I'm a former international player that has played the game since I was 5 years old, starting in Hong Kong, developing in England where I represented the national team and very nearly went to the Olympics in 2000 and 2004 and have been living in New York for the past 20 years. I started New York City Field Hockey Club and have been coaching at club, college, regional representative and international level throughout that time. I'm passionate about the game and developing players abilities to maximize their enjoyment of the game and having some fun along the way!
I'm an expert in the technical and tactical side of the game and how to get the most out of your ability. From proper form to elite tricks, we can evaluate your current play and find ways to upgrade and enhance your performance. We can also analyze your performances from a tactical perspective and how you can have greater influence and impact on your teams and the game.
Depending on your age, there will be a lot of basic skill development as well as some higher intensity repetition work to really hone skills and start to perform under pressure. We will make sure to work hard, take plenty of breaks and really maximize each session so the progression is as rapid as possible.

I've had many but 2 stand out. My elementary school coach was hardcore focused on the basics and made every player he coached have exceptional technique. This has rubbed off on me and I like to instill the same high levels in my players.
The other was my Club Coach in England who ultimately coached many of the Junior National Teams that I played in. Sometimes he was crazy but he was a master tactician and I learnt the majority of my tactical understanding from him. I also learnt how not to be crazy but also apply the same understanding of the flow and reading of the game.
I'm driven and an elite performer but I'm also realistic and understanding of different levels of ability. I like to focus and work hard and then have time for fun. I have high standards but progress comes from attention to detail and accumulation of skills over time and the more the players enjoy the process, the more fun and achievement we can enjoy together.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
