I am happy to work with the next generation of young rowers and help them achieve their goals. A typical training session with me will be focused on conditioning and speed for the 2k and 6k pieces. We will also work on refining technique and race plans to better achieve those numbers. Rowing is a very physically demanding sport, so the safety of the athlete comes first. That being said, my goal is for the rowers to be the best version of themselves, on and off the water. I can also provide guidance for the rowers and parents for the college recruitment process.

Get to know Coach Conor

About Me:

I started rowing back in freshman year of high school for my school team and eventually transitioned to club teams as a lightweight rower. I was the captain of my club team in 2013 and 2014. My boats have placed and won in numerous regattas, including competing at HOCR. My highest achievements were winning gold NY State championships in 2013 and 2014 in both lwt 4+ and lwt 2x disciplines, subsequently placing at youth nationals in 2014. I was recruited to Drexel University in 2014 and rowed for my first semester but unfortunately had to stop due to various back injuries I had incurred. I still continue to row for fun when I have the opportunity. My current 2k pr is 6:34 as a lightweight.

How I can help you improve your game:

I will structure my workouts curated to the rower's 2k goal such that pulling their target numbers will become muscle memory. I addition to that, I will train strict technique to better optimize their stroke. I will utilize the training I had received to achieve my goals and apply it here.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session will consist on three main parts: warm up, core workout, and cooldown. During the core workout, I will include one power piece and one more technical focused piece, depending on the need of the rower. All first time sessions, I will require an evaluation of your erg scores/technique so I can assess where you are at and how to proceed with a more structured regimen.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I don't have a lot of coaching experience (yet). I hope I can make an impact and start here.

Best coach I ever had:

I have had a number of great coaches during my rowing career. My last club coach I think truly brought out my max potential and took me to the next level. He showed me how minor adjustments can make such a large impact on the water.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am a person who believes what you put in to something is what you're going to get out of it. That is how I was trained and it is something that has always held up especially in a sport like rowing. I don't believe in shortcuts to achieving your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
