Get to know Coach Colin

About Me:

I was born in Irving, Texas, but raised across the Bay Area, Oregon, and New Mexico—so I learned early that adaptability and hard work travel wherever you go. That mindset carried me through my time in the United States Air Force as a public affairs specialist, where I honed the discipline, communication, and attention to detail that I now bring to every athlete I coach.

Long before the Air Force, some of my most formative years were spent as a camp counselor and working in after‑school programs. Being around coaches and mentors during that time showed me something powerful: it truly takes a village to raise, shape, and support young people. Those experiences instilled in me a deep responsibility to pour into the next generation—the same way others poured into me.

For over a decade, I’ve run my own business as a personal trainer and strength coach. I’ve worked with athletes of all ages, but my heart is in helping young competitors unlock the next level—safely, intelligently, and with measurable results. I know what it takes to build strength that actually translates to the field, the court, or wherever they compete.

When I’m not in the gym, you’ll find me obsessing over Formula One, cheering on my beloved Texas Longhorns (hook ’em!), or chasing peace on a quiet hiking trail. I truly love being outdoors and I genuinely love working with kids—there’s nothing better than seeing a young athlete’s confidence grow right alongside their strength.

I coach the way I live: with purpose, passion, and a commitment to bringing out the best in the next generation.

How I can help you improve your game:

help athletes improve their game by combining two core principles: Conquer Your Fitness—owning the process with smart, measurable training—and Strong Mind Strong Body—building the mental resilience and physical power to perform under pressure. Together, they create athletes who are stronger, more confident, and ready to dominate when it matters most.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

We start with a dynamic warm‑up to prime the body and focus the mind. Then it’s into intelligent strength work—building explosive power and functional strength that transfers directly to their sport. Next, we hit athletic development: agility, speed, or sport‑specific drills that sharpen the competitive edge. We close with mobility and a mental debrief, sending every athlete out stronger, smarter, and more confident than when they walked in.

Career summary and accomplishments:

· Athlete at heart: Played basketball from age five through one year of college—so I understand the athlete’s mindset from the inside out.

· Military leadership: Served as a fitness trainer lead in the U.S. Air Force, sharpening my ability to develop disciplined, resilient performers.

· Proven results: Trained a Division I basketball athlete on the path to the NBA, and countless clients who’ve returned to share how our work left them feeling more complete—body and soul.

· Credentials: CrossFit Level 1, ISA Certified, CPR certified, with specialized expertise in strength and plyometric training.

· Experience: Trained hundreds of athletes across one‑on‑one coaching and group exercise settings.

Best coach I ever had:

Coach Garth was my sophomore to senior year basketball coach. He was by far my most impactful coach who set the standard. It was very disciplined and maintained accountability, but truly loved us, wanting every athlete to maximize their full potential.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I’m a former Air Force fitness lead, a longtime business owner, and a coach who’s trained hundreds of athletes—from youth to Division I. But more than that, I’m someone who grew up surrounded by mentors and counselors who showed me the power of a village. That’s exactly what I bring to every athlete I train: genuine investment, intelligent programming, and a belief that strong body and strong mind go hand in hand. I love what I do, I love seeing young athletes grow, and I take just as much pride in their confidence as I do in their strength. When you train with me, you’re not just getting a program—you’re getting a coach who truly cares about the whole athlete, on and off the field.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
