Looking to improve your skills and mental side of the game? Hi, my name is Colin and I've been playing lacrosse my whole life and coaching for the past year now. Coming from New Jersey to Charleston, I'm looking to give back to the next generation of players as they did for me. I've coach at the Group Four level in New Jersey after playing in high school at the Non-Public A level as an attackmen. Let's get to work!

About Me:

High School: 20 goal scorer on a competitive Non-Public A school that went to the state semifinals. Multiple teammates went on the play at next level (D1-D3).

Club: Played for NJ Thunder, a competitive travel team, that went up and down the East Coast each summer and fall. Was recruited at the D3/MCLA level but opted to go to school for better academics while staying close to the game (Loyola Maryland).

How I can help you improve your game:

As I played on the offensive side of the ball most of my life, I have a keen understanding how to operate from below and above GLE. I've played from everywhere on the field offensively (X, Wing, Crease, Up Top) and know the ins and outs of spacing and understanding how to read the field. From shooting in space, dodging downhill, and feeding inside, I can help you identify blind spots in your game and turn them into strengths. On the other side of the ball, going against close defensemen most of my life gives in a perspective on how to shut down an attackmen, slide properly, and read the field to put yourself in the right positions.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Over the course of an hour, there are three main areas I would like to cover: footwork, fundamentals, and creativity. For footwork, this could include agility drills, quick burst drills, and dodging techniques. With fundamentals, this will be passing, shooting at all levels, creating space, and more. Finally, with creativity it will be situational type drills that challenge the player to think or act in different ways similar to what they would experience in a game. The main thing with each session is that the player comes out feeling as if they learned or improved something while having fun and enjoying their time.

Career summary and accomplishments:

Assistant that helped lead Group Four school (NJ) to a 12-7 record (1-0 as acting head coach) and win first state playoff game in program history. Primary responsible was the offensive side of the ball, setting up various offensive formations and EMO plays. Scouting and breaking down film was also part of my role.

Best coach I ever had:

My favorite coach goes back to my youth league days: Coach Steve. While teaching us how to play the game the right way, he always preached having fun and enjoying what we are doing. While he taught me to take lacrosse seriously and put in the hard work, he made sure we always keep things light and allow us room to laugh and try new things (even if they didn't work out).

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am someone who values the mental side of the game as much as the physical. It was always a goal of mine to be the smartest person on the field, whether that came from watching film or reading and reacting in-game. I always value creativity as a coach, preaching not only the basic fundamentals but the ability to be successful however you can in whatever situation you find yourself in. As a coach, I believe we are not just molding better lacrosse players, but molding kids in young adults to be successful in whatever they choose to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
