I can provide players with the perspective of someone who's been in their shoes.

I have over 14 years of experience playing baseball and throughout that time I have had the privilege of working with some amazing coaches who have taught me how to become a better, more coachable player. I bring tons of recent playing experience to the table, whether it's at the youth or high school level, and know what is important for players to work on and get better at depending on age and experience level. I will be playing college baseball as a two-way player, so I can give pitching, hitting, and fielding lessons.

How I can help you improve your game:

Being a recent high school graduate I'm about as close to youth baseball experience as one can get while still being qualified to coach. I can remember playing in little league, pony, and high school and know which skills are important to hone for each of those respective stages of a playing career. I've played for ex-MLB and D1 college players and have accrued quite a bit of knowledge from them not only on how to improve playing ability, but also intangibles such as attitude and how a player should carry themselves on the field.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

If it's a hitting lesson the player will start by hitting off of a tee and getting a feel for their swing before transitioning to hitting moving baseballs. Players will then move to front toss and, depending on their proficiency, I will move back and throw overhand. Throughout this progression I will be giving tips and evaluating their swing, pitch selection, and overall presence at the plate. Advice could be mechanical or mental.

For a pitching lesson we will begin by warming up the arm to throw. This will occur through resistance band training and plyo balls if they are available, as well as stretching. After this is completed we will throw to continue warming up with an emphasis on mechanics and accuracy - warm ups can be one of the most valuable times for a pitcher if utilized properly. Next the pitcher will throw a bullpen that I will catch (without gear), assuming it's safe given their velocity. In this time I will work through how to pitch to certain hitters (i.e. attack strategies), as well as mental and mechanical advice.

For fielding lessons for an infielder we will begin work on picks and shorthops to build comfort for game situations, then I will hit ground balls to them and have them make throws to a target at first if they feel comfortable doing so.

For outfielders I will work primarily on taking good routes to fly balls by doing some smaller scale drills before hitting pop ups.

For all of these lessons I want the focus to be on things the player needs to work on the most in order to elevate their game. These elements will be discovered most likely during the first lesson and amended as we work together more and more.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I've ever had was my coach for 7 years, starting in little league. He laid the foundation for the player and person that I am today whether it was through instruction or life lessons. He helped me fall in love with baseball and I truly don't know where I would be if I hadn't been able to be coached by him.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I want any player I work with to get better and see in game results while also having fun. Not all of my instruction will make sense to a player, so if parents want to watch lessons they are more than welcome to. Baseball is an incredibly difficult sport so it may take time to see obvious progress, but my goal is to at least push everyone I work with on a trajectory that will them set up for success as they progress through their baseball journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
