Get to know Coach Trevor

About Me:

As a lifelong baseball player, my career was highlighted by a short stint playing for the Vallejo Admirals in the Pacific Association. I graduated college with little to no prospects to continue playing. I hit the gym and worked harder than I ever had to transform my body into a better tool for the game of baseball.

I credit that one offseason of highly-focused strength training as the main reason I was able to make the Vallejo team. I made the final roster of 22 players out of an initial field of 60 players. Although my professional career was short-lived, I was able to prove to myself that I could play with and even excel against professionals.

I made the team as a utility player and was able to gain invaluable experience playing different positions all over the field. I met and learned from players from all over the world and was able to really hone my baseball knowledge and philosophy.

In my time at UMSL I was the third-baseman, captain, and 3-hole hitter for our team. I was awarded player of the week as well as all league honors in my junior season.

How I can help you improve your game:

I specialize in working with players' mechanics and tweaking them towards the correct form. I am not a one size fits all coach.

I believe this game is about having fun, but it is definitely more fun when you are good!

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session will start with a short conversation about what your goals are and what areas you think need the most improvement.

After that I like to start with tee work so I can assess the swing with one of the variables of hitting removed - the pitch.

Based off of my assessment of tee work we will branch off into more focused drills to hone in one aspect of the swing.

We will always end by swinging freely, allowing the body to try to process the changes we are making.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I started a club baseball team with two partners back in 2014. We ended up forming 2 teams made up of ages 8-12. I organized and operated practice plans weekly, as well as managing the financial account for the team. We played in fall leagues and entered tournaments throughout the year before the kids local leagues started. I am proud to say that a number of my former players went on to be successful high school players with a few even playing in college.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was Steve Friend at Chabot College in the bay area. He ran his program like a well-oiled machine. I transferred in at the spring semester and immediately stepped into the best baseball program I would ever be a part of.

He utilized stations in order to keep the flow of practice going. Each day there was a motivational quote in the locker room that would fire everybody up. I learned the meaning of team mentality while being a part of this program. I saw that confidence and excellence can be a mindset and a characteristic of each individual on the team.

It was a program where if you ever felt like taking a rep off or "going easy" on something, you would be getting outworked by every other person in the program - which in turn made everybody give 100% effort at all times.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am the type of player who had to work to earn every role on every team I ever joined. I was never the "top prospect" and I never had anything handed to me.

I had to work my butt off and train to achieve the level of success that I wanted. It's because of this that I feel I am an exceptional coach. More than likely, what I am teaching is something I have done firsthand to make myself better at this game.

I am the son of a coach and have been around the game for my entire life.

Most importantly, I love baseball and want to share my passion for the sport with the next generation.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
