Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
Over my career, I have been fortunate to achieve many accomplishments that shaped both my athletic and personal journey. As a pole vaulter, I had the honor of breaking and holding the state record in Ohio, where I’m from—a milestone that remains one of my proudest achievements. Beyond setting records, athletics opened incredible doors for me, including earning a scholarship that allowed me to have my college education fully paid for. These experiences taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, and they continue to fuel my passion for helping young athletes chase and achieve their own dreams.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I’ve ever had is my high school coach, Coach Coblentz. He taught me what it truly means to be a great coach, not just in terms of athletic training but also in building meaningful relationships with his athletes. As a young athlete, I admired how much he cared about each of us, taking the time to understand our goals and challenges. He showed me how a coach’s input can shape not just athletic performance but also personal growth. His guidance inspired trust, respect, and motivation, and it’s those qualities I strive to bring to my own coaching style today.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athletes and parents should know that I am a dedicated coach who genuinely cares about the success and well-being of every athlete I work with. I bring firsthand experience as a state record-holding pole vaulter and a scholarship athlete, which allows me to understand both the challenges and opportunities that come with competing at a high level. My coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, injury prevention, and personal growth, all in a supportive and encouraging environment. I’m passionate about helping athletes build confidence, develop discipline, and reach their full potential both on and off the track.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I have had the privilege of coaching both swim and track for a variety of families and alongside different coaches, which has given me valuable experience in adapting to diverse needs and coaching styles. One of my proudest accomplishments has been leading an all-girls group dedicated to inspiring young women to pursue their dreams, both in sports and in life. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of empowerment and encouragement, especially for young athletes. Through my coaching, I aim to instill confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose in every athlete I work with.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I can help someone get better by focusing on their individual strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and creating a clear plan to achieve their goals. My approach combines personalized training programs with consistent feedback to ensure steady progress. I prioritize teaching proper technique to prevent injuries and build a strong foundation for long-term success. Beyond the physical, I focus on mental toughness, motivation, and goal setting, helping athletes overcome challenges and stay focused. Most importantly, I strive to build trust and provide encouragement, creating a supportive environment where athletes feel confident to push their limits and grow.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session starts with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the body and prevent injuries, including mobility exercises and light cardio. We then focus on skill-specific drills tailored to the athlete’s goals, such as improving speed, strength, or technique. Strength and conditioning exercises are incorporated to build power and endurance. The session ends with a cool-down routine, including stretching and recovery techniques, to ensure proper muscle care. Throughout, I provide real-time feedback, encouragement, and adjustments to maximize progress and confidence.
