Let’s get to work!

Hello, Athletes and Parents! My name is Nathan, and I am a proud graduate of Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) in Albany, NY. Growing up in the Capital District, I competed on CBA’s track and field team, starting as an eighth grader specializing in shot put, discus, and weight throw. As a self-taught thrower, I have achieved significant milestones while balancing rigorous academics and maintaining a 4.7 GPA. Some of my achievements include being a 6-Time Section II Champion (Shot Put and Weight Throw), earning All-State Honors, achieving a podium finish at New Balance Nationals Rising Stars, and successfully navigating the NCAA Division I recruitment process, which led me to compete at Columbia University. As a coach, I aim to provide a comprehensive and personalized program for athletes aspiring to excel in throwing events and beyond. When I coach my athletes, I aim for a precise route to success, which includes customized strength and conditioning plans tailored to optimize performance, technique refinement, mental performance coaching to build resilience and competitive edge, and college recruitment guidance based on my own experience navigating the Division I process. My goal is to help each athlete not only achieve their personal best but also foster a strong work ethic, confidence, and love for the sport. Whether you're looking to refine your technique, improve your performance, or explore opportunities at the next level, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

About Me:

Some of my achievements include being a 6-Time Section II Champion (Shot Put and Weight Throw) with other podium finishes in the discus, earning All-State Honors, achieving a podium finish at New Balance Nationals Rising Stars, attaining a 4 Star rating, and was recruited by multiple U.S. top 20 schools.

How I can help you improve your game:

I will coach all athletes through building customized strength and conditioning plans, technique refinement, mental performance coaching to build resilience and competitive edge, and college recruitment guidance based on my own experience navigating the Division I process.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

The first session will run a little longer than usual, at about 1.75-2 hrs. In this session, we will go over my philosophy behind throwing, lifting, and competing at the high school level compared to those interested in the collegiate level. We will take a glimpse at the strength routine, and if athletes and parents see me as a good fit for them, we will continue with the real deal of a tailored strength program, mental tips, technique cues and refinements, and recruiting advice. During this first session, I ask you to come prepared with your lifting PRs and/or goals, throwing PRs and/or goals (along with film), throwing shoes, training shoes, an eager attitude, and parent if possible. In the following sessions, only the throwing and training shoes are required!

Career summary and accomplishments:

I never had a coach for the throwing events in all of high school. Therefore, I label myself as "self-taught." Watching various YouTube videos, speaking, and practicing with local collegiate and other high school throwers has allowed me to build a strong foundation to throw at the next level and succeed in my high school career.

Best coach I ever had:

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I aim to bring athletes success in the classroom, in their work ethic, in the weight room and circle, and their own mental space. I strive to build confident, strong, and diligent athletes throughout my time coaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.

  • Easy rescheduling — Cancel or reschedule up to 4 hours before a lesson, no questions asked.

  • Coach no-shows — You'll be fully credited and we'll help you find a replacement.

  • Flexible credits — Unused lessons last 12 months and can be used with any coach on the platform.

AU was created by former college and pro athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process + background check, so you can trust you're training with the best.
