Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
11 years of High School coaching, 6 years of Masters coaching and the last two years coaching at the Aquazot Swim Club. CIF winners, Ironman finishers and a multitude of USA Swimming success.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Brian Murphy, founder of the Rose Bowl Aquatic Club and several Olympic competitors. He continues to mentor me and has been a lifetime friend.
"Murph" allowed his athletes (and I was one of them) to be the best they can be without the confrontational style that some coaches out there are. Mentoring them and pushing when needed, encouraging always and enjoying the sport we all love so much.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Swimming has been my lifetime passion. Since the age of five I have been in or around the water. Being a Christian example of what coaching can be like without being preachy allows me to guide my athletes to be the best they can be. Sharing my love of the sport with others has fueled my passion as a "second career" later in life.

How can you help someone improve their game?
Guiding athletes through those rough spots in training, helping them find that next level of success and breaking through plateaus to achieve those goals they set out for themselves. With hard work and a soft touch, I will enable them to own their goals and process while following the path I set out for them.
What does a typical training session look like?
Initial assessment will be to review current skill set, talk about future goals and past struggles to ascertain the best way to move forward. Combinations of dryland and water time will improve overall athletic ability, strength and focus.
