Get to know Coach Molly

About Me:

By any metric, Molly Marrin is a successful leader, coach, and developer of talent. As the women’s basketball coach of her alma mater, Regis University in Denver for the last decade, she led the Rangers to 169 wins, with the highest winning percentage in the school’s history. Under her leadership, the Rangers won an average of 17 games per year, two RMAC championships, and 3 NCAA Division 2 appearances. Prior to becoming the head coach at Regis, she worked as a Recruiting Coordinator at 5 NCAA Division 1 schools including the University of Denver, the University of San Francisco, North Dakota State University, Wright State University, and the University of Northern Colorado in which she brings 22 years of college coaching to the table.

An outstanding recruiter, Molly canvassed talent nationally and was also able to attract 13 Colorado All-State Players to her winning program. RMAC recognized the quality of the Regis team, naming 24 players as All RMAC performers, 12 as offensive players of the week, and 8 as defensive players of the week. Among her stellar individual performers were All American Erin Fry, the RMAC freshman of year and player of the year in her career, and Whitney Jacob, the RMAC defensive player of the year in 2020. Six of Marrin’s players leveled up professionally to play in Europe following college. A tribute to Coach Marrin’s mentoring skills, 12 former assistant coaches and players who served under her have advanced in college coaching, including four to the NCAA Division 1 level.

With a broad vision for the future, Coach Marrin focused on both the athletic growth and academic standing of her college athletes. The Rangers achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 during her tenure. In 2017-18, Marrin’s players received the Brechler Award for the highest GPA in the RMAC while also being ranked in the top ten nationally. In the summer of 2016, Coach Marrin turned her attention to younger players, when she initiated the Regis Team Camps. The program expanded each year from 12 teams in her first year to reaching 101 teams in 2024, one of the largest team camps in the state of Colorado.

Coach Marrin’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed by professional organizations. In 2023, Molly was awarded recognition as the South Central Region Coach of the Year, a WBCA Finalist for National Coach of the Year, the WE COACH of the month, and @WHoopDirt NCAA D2 National Coach of the Week. Coach Marrin drew the attention of the local media with a historic season.

As a player, Molly Marrin was doggedly determined to improve her own skills. That same determination and tenacity gave her a competitive edge as a college coach. Marrin graduated from Regis in 2003 with a degree in communications. She was a four year letterwinner for the Rangers, earning First Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) honors and was twice named to the RMAC All-Tournament Team. She was also names Regis University's Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

Experience has taught her to be laser focused on the skills critical for growth, and years of teaching have refined her delivery to help turn theory into practice. Whether coaching young players, college athletes, or mentoring assistants, Coach Marrin has empowered her students to level up to their full potential.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
