Congrats! Your child is interested in progressing with their basketball. I bring humor, connection, hard work, experience, hustle and (quick) story telling to the court. Sessions are set up to keep a rotation of variety and motivation while nailing down the constants like ball handling. I played hoop since I could hold a ball and received a full scholarship for college. I was trained mostly in highschool and I understand the fundamentals and intestinal fortitude it takes to grunt it out on defense and the value of assists and the details of even how you set up coming off a screen. My coach was the winningest highschool coach in NY and holds the record for 4 state championship titles in 4 different sports. Coaching matters. The nuance details needed to go from good to great sets you apart as a ball player and the team (wo)mentality is what wins games.

Played tennis, softball and basketball in college. Was recruited for all 3 sports for my play, academics and attitude. I always worked on the areas I could control (sportsmanship, team skills (defense, great passes) and that always led to the overall skills and better individual play, too. I was super self motivated but had great influences along the way. I love coaching because I love taking a spark or one area of a passion for a ball player and bridging that to go further in an individualized athlete personality/style way. I have experience with children as a parent and a teacher and Education Coordinator for over 25 years. Connection is key. Having fun is integral. Takeaways and targeted areas to work on from week to week crucial. I meet kids I’ve coached years later and they still tell me they saved my written constructive feedback and successes.
Sustaining and elevating the love of the game, motivating, thinking beyond wins, mentality of all areas on the court/emphasis on non flashy areas, ball handling drills with purpose, visuals/real scenarios/tangible takeaways from each session, stream lined focal areas where they can self reflect and assess their own thinking/development and recognize their improvements, etc
Stretches, warm ups, then variety rotation- conditioning, breakdown of skills, then real scenarios, lighthearted competition/fun, recap, homework.
Focus on thinking and development for more intuitive carry over into games-not always a right or wrong decision so thinking is a value.
Assistant coach to my college team, assistant coach in Boston area, coach of youth sports-soccer, softball, tennis, golf and basketball.
My highschool coach focused on the fundamentals and modeled himself (in a true to himself, natural way) after the great college coaches of my time (80s/90s). We wanted practice to go longer. And we became best friends on and off the court.
I’m supportive, patient, respectful, motivating, intuitive, always have the big picture in mind, work with parents well, and still LOVE basketball after all these years. I play in a competitive league still and am looking forward to season ticket visits to the Suns games! I have 2 children and a small farm (dogs, cats, rabbit). I am flexible about travel and work near Boston so it’s easy to tie on workouts in that area, as well as Southeastern MA and RI.

After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times.
