How I can help you improve your game:

I help players improve their game by focusing on both the technical and mental aspects of basketball. First, I emphasize mastering the fundamentals—ball handling, shooting, passing, and defense—so players can execute with confidence and consistency. I also work on developing basketball IQ, helping players understand the flow of the game, decision-making, and team dynamics. Beyond skills, I prioritize building mental toughness and resilience, teaching players how to stay focused under pressure and maintain a positive mindset. Whether it's through individual drills or team strategies, my goal is to create an environment where players can grow, make mistakes, and continuously improve their game.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session with me starts with a dynamic warm-up to get players moving and prepared for the physical demands of basketball. This includes mobility exercises, footwork drills, and light ball handling to activate the muscles and get the players in a focused mindset. After the warm-up, we move into skill development, where we focus on key fundamentals like shooting, passing, dribbling, or defense. Depending on the practice goal for the day, I may incorporate specific drills, such as rebounding and boxing out, or defensive positioning and communication. We always include game-like situations in drills to help players apply what they've learned in real-world contexts.

The final part of the session often involves a scrimmage or situational drills that mimic game scenarios, such as fast breaks, transition defense, or specific plays. I ensure that players have the chance to showcase what they’ve learned, get feedback, and reinforce good habits. We wrap up with a cool-down and a brief discussion, allowing players to reflect on their progress and areas for improvement.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I began my coaching career as a Student Assistant for the Max Hayes High School Girls' team, where I learned the fundamentals of team management and strategy. I then served as an Assistant Coach for the 6th-8th grade team at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, helping develop young athletes' skills and understanding of the game. This role prepared me to take on the Head Coach position for the same age group, where I’ve since led practices, developed game plans, and worked to instill values like teamwork, discipline, and resilience. My experience across these roles has shaped my approach to coaching, focusing on building a strong foundation in both skills and sportsmanship.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was someone who not only knew the game deeply but also valued building strong relationships with each player. They emphasized fundamentals, holding each of us to a high standard in every drill and play, and taught us to understand basketball as a team sport first. Beyond skills, this coach was incredibly supportive, pushing us to become better on and off the court, teaching us resilience, work ethic, and confidence. Their approach left a lasting impression on me and shaped how I coach today—focused on both individual and team growth, with a commitment to mentoring players in all aspects of life.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I’m passionate about developing not just skilled players but also well-rounded individuals. My focus is on building a strong foundation of basketball fundamentals, game IQ, and teamwork, while also emphasizing values like discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship. I believe in creating a positive, challenging, and supportive environment where players feel empowered to grow and reach their potential. As a coach, I’m committed to open communication and transparency with both players and parents, ensuring that everyone understands the goals and expectations. My ultimate aim is to prepare athletes to succeed both on and off the court.

Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
