Summary of Career and Accomplishments
My journey in tennis started at the age of 3 and led to a competitive junior career where I ranked in the top 10 players in the Northeast. I was fortunate to compete at a high level, with over 30 career tournament wins, including a win over the New York State titleholder in the 18 and under division. These experiences taught me resilience, focus, and the value of technique, which I bring to my coaching today. I understand the demands and dedication competitive tennis requires and am passionate about helping young athletes achieve their goals on the court.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was, without a doubt, my dad. Growing up on a small island in Italy, he brought values of hard work and intense focus to everything he did. He believed in making every minute count and pushed me to give 100% every time I stepped onto the court. His emphasis on maximizing my time, staying disciplined, and pushing through challenges has shaped not only my approach to tennis but also my outlook on life. His passion for the game and his dedication to my growth made him a tremendous influence in my tennis journey.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I’m here for players who are committed to putting in the work. My focus is on making each session count, using our time on the court to not only build skills but also foster discipline and a strong work ethic. My goal is to make a lasting impact—not only on your tennis game but in ways that benefit you beyond the court. My coaching experience has been focused and hands-on. I coached one talented junior player exclusively from the time he started playing at 14 until he left for college at 19. Working together full-time, we focused on building his technical skills, mental discipline, and competitive strategy. Our hard work paid off, and he achieved a #18 ranking in the New York region. We traveled throughout the NY metro area to tournaments. My experience with him deepened my approach and passion for guiding dedicated young athletes toward reaching their potential.
How can you help someone improve their game?
Improvement starts with the fundamentals, and in tennis, footwork is everything. Great footwork not only helps you reach every shot but keeps you balanced and ready for what’s next. I emphasize being in the moment, reading your opponent, and responding with intention. Each movement counts, and learning to be mentally present helps you stay one step ahead. My coaching also focuses on building a strong technical foundation—developing modern strokes, refining serves, and improving tactical play. We’ll work on precision, adapting strategies based on opponents, and building confidence to handle high-pressure situations. My goal is to help players reach their potential through discipline, focus, and consistent effort. Whether it’s on-court performance or personal growth, I’m here to support your journey.
What does a typical training session look like?
We start with stretching and breath work to activate the body and mind, then it’s straight into intense ball and footwork drills to build precision and agility. We’ll also work on serve and return drills. From there, it’s high-energy point play, where you’ll practice applying techniques under pressure. Finally, we wrap up with fitness drills to keep you strong, sharp, and ready for every point.
