Get to know Coach Jordan

About Me:

I played on teams & trained in multiple sports throughout my lifetime, such as football, basketball, weightlifting, and lacrosse. I went to multiple recruiting camps throughout my high school years & gained attention from some noteworthy schools & coaches, such as: Villanova, Old Dominion University, Hampton University, Miami U of Ohio, University of Pittsburgh, Temple University, and so on & so forth. During my athletic endeavors, I spent time on the side position coaching for my middle school football team, in which I coached our quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers. I also spent some years with individual training in basketball and weightlifting as well. I recently graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Sport management. I worked on the operations side of all the men’s & women’s sport teams which included: equipment management, game & shot clock operation, in-game substitutions, replay center operation, etc.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help athletes improve their game by providing them a series of practice drills/workouts that will help them develop their technique, mental, and physical strength both on the offensive side and defensive side of the ball. I will also provide them with guides on proper nutrition, stretching exercises, and other types of recovery/injury prevention methods that can be utilized outside of training.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session includes:

-A warm up (such as stretching, light jog, and some lateral shuffles to increase blood flow)

-Skill development drills (such as dribbling drills, shooting drills, passing drills, footwork drills)

-Conditioning (Sprints, agility, endurance)

-Situational drills (in-game scenarios such as pick and rolls, fast breaks, defensive rotations)

-Cool down period (light jog, static stretching)

Career summary and accomplishments:

My background includes more than 7 years of personal training in weight lifting, football, and basketball, along with group position training in football (including: wide receivers, running backs, and quarterbacks).

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was my grandfather. His background in basketball was highly impressive, as he was the first player at his school to score 1000 career points. He trained with some notable NBA players back in his day, such as Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, etc. The reason I loved his coaching so much is because he knew the fundamentals of the game inside & out, and he would always have stories to tell me from his playing days that inspired me to work even harder. He would take me out to the basketball courts as a young kid everyday, coached me extremely hard, and taught me how to play and excel at basketball. A lot of the wisdom that he has given me is instilled in me as I apply it to my life today.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

You should know that I am a very personable individual outside of basketball training, as I am relate able to anyone I’m around & I have a unique personality. Within the realm of basketball training, I believe that athletes should be pushed to be the best version of themselves, which is something I expect of myself and act on a daily basis, not only in basketball, but in life in general.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
