About Me:

I was scouted by Queens Park Rangers Football Club (QPR) at the age of 6 and spent over a decade progressing through their academy system until I was 17, one year into my scholarship. During my time at QPR, I had the privilege of traveling with the U16 team to Premier League tournaments and twice with the U18 team to the prestigious Milk Cup in Derry, Northern Ireland.

I was also fortunate to play for the Nike Academy, where I competed in weekly games against professional youth squads from all over England, gaining valuable experience in a highly competitive environment.

My playing journey continued in the United States, where I represented Coastal Bend Junior College in Beeville, TX, competing at the NCJAA Division 1 level. I then furthered my education and soccer career at Mid-America Christian University (MACU), continuing to hone my skills while gaining insights into the collegiate game.

How I can help you improve your game:

With over 20 years of playing experience, I believe the key to improving in soccer is mastering the fundamentals and simplifying the game. As a coach, it’s important to instill this mindset, focusing on the basics so players can execute them effectively and confidently.

No matter the position, there is always room to improve individual skills like touch, dribbling, and execution. This improvement comes from consistent practice and having the confidence to apply what you've learned in real-game situations. Every player is unique, so I tailor sessions to meet their specific needs, ensuring focused, personalized development.

Additionally, I emphasize building confidence in players, encouraging them to take risks and embrace mistakes as part of the learning process. This fosters growth and helps them become more dynamic and fearless on the field.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session with me is well-structured, ensuring that every aspect of a player’s development is addressed. Here’s how a session generally unfolds:

Arrival & Warm-Up (10 minutes):

7 minutes: Dynamic stretching, gradually increasing intensity.

3 minutes: Fast feet activation exercises, followed by short, intense sprints to get the body fully prepared for the session.

Technical Training (15 minutes):

- 10 minutes: Focused individual technique work to improve core skills such as ball control, dribbling, and first touch.

- 5 minutes: Passing activation exercises to build quick decision-making and accurate distribution.

Individual Focus (15 minutes):

Tailored to each player’s needs, such as:

- Defensive body shape and positioning.

- Turning out of pressure and switching play effectively.

- Finding and exploiting space behind the defense.

- Fitness & Body Conditioning (10 minutes):

- Plyometric exercises to improve explosive power.

- Quick-feet drills for agility and sharpness.

- Short, high-intensity exercises to develop endurance and speed.

Cool-Down (5 minutes):

- Static stretching to promote flexibility and aid recovery.

(I always advise players to stretch as much as possible to prevent injury and improve mobility.)

Each session is designed to challenge players while addressing both technical and physical aspects of their development. I aim to create a focused, fun, and productive environment that helps players improve on and off the ball.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was Fitzroy Lewison, who coached me for nine years at Queens Park Rangers. He was not only an incredible coach, but a father figure who played a pivotal role in shaping the coach and the person I am today. Fitzroy's coaching philosophy emphasized the importance of being comfortable with the ball at our feet and making the right decisions under pressure.

What truly set Fitzroy apart was his ability to transition us from technical academy thinking to a more mature, positional-based mindset. He did this by adapting our training sessions to our age and development level, ensuring that we not only grew technically but also tactically. His approach had a lasting impact on how I view the game and teach my own players.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Soccer has always been a part of my life, having grown up in England where the sport is truly a way of life. By age 10, I knew I wanted to make soccer my career. The competitive environment I experienced there instilled resilience in me and a relentless drive for success. My love for the game will always continue to grow.

Having played in England and the USA, I've had the privilege of learning from and interacting with players from various cultural backgrounds. This exposure has enriched my coaching approach, allowing me to connect with athletes in a way that recognizes and values diverse playing styles and perspectives

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
