Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
My High School Varsity Coach was the best coach I ever had. He taught me that discipline and toughness are the foundation for championship football teams. He had a Bill Belichick approach that earned him a spot in the Arizona Coaching Hall of Fame.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
As a coach, I am deeply committed to the growth and well-being of each athlete. My background as an underdog has shaped my coaching philosophy, emphasizing self-determination and resilience. I prioritize creating a supportive environment where athletes can develop not just their physical skills, but also their mental toughness. How can you help someone improve their game?
I help athletes improve their game through a holistic approach that focuses on both mental and physical development. First, we assess their current skills and identify areas for growth. I then create personalized training plans that include strength and conditioning, technical skill enhancement, and mental toughness exercises.
I emphasize goal-setting, helping athletes pursue their objectives with determination and focus. Through regular feedback, motivation, and encouragement, I ensure they stay on track and build confidence in their abilities. Ultimately, my goal is to empower them to unlock their full potential and elevate their performance on the field.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session begins with a dynamic warm-up to get the athletes moving and ready. We then dive into goal and position-specific drills that focus on both consistent fundamentals and new challenges. Each session is designed to be high-energy, engaging, and challenging. To keep things fresh and fun, I incorporate a variety of equipment that introduces different challenges and keeps the training environment exciting. My goal is to ensure that athletes leave each session feeling accomplished and motivated to improve.
