Why Train With Me?

I know what it takes to be successful, and I can help you get there. I coach for the athletes. I know what it will take to reach their goals, to reach the top and I will help set them up to achieve it. I also will help them grow as a person, since there’s more to sports than winning and losing. Life lessons are taught, life goals are accomplished, and it all begins with believing. And I will help them believe in themselves and gain self confidence throughout everyday life. Patience, hard work, and dedication will get you there.

Athletic Background

Summary of Career and Accomplishments
College: Ran track at East Carolina University for 5 years. I was a 110/400 meter hurdler, who also did the 4x1 and 4x4 relays. I medaled top 3 in both hurdles at the conference championships 3 years in a row, while also helping the 4x4 take 3rd at conference in 2018. In 2017 I made it to the NCAA D1 East regional qualifiers. High school: I played varsity football and ran track and field all 4 years. I was all state in track all 4 years. I also finished 3rd at the 2013 outdoor Junior Olympics and 3rd at Indoor Nationals in 2014.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Coach Savage, my track/strength and conditioning coach. He set me up to get where I needed to be. He listened to what I wanted from training and listened to my goals and planned every workout to help me achieve it. He also was my mentor and helped me with school, organization skills, people skills, and kept me accountable for everything. He provided resources to help me get seen by colleges and even helped me meet some throughout the years. He cared about me as a person and not just as an athlete.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am from Virginia, went to school in North Carolina (East Carolina University). I graduated with a bachelors in health fitness (personal training). I also had taught 7th and 8th grade math for 3 years. So not only can I help with sport specific training, I can help with strength and conditioning to help tune up the finer motor skills, but also help with your approach with school and your everyday mental wellness. If anyone can help you think the unthinkable, it’s me and I’ll set you up for it.

How can you help someone improve their game?
Learn what their goals are. Set up a regimen that has them at their peak athleticism (strength, speed, conditioning, etc.). Teach them mechanisms that help them heal and work on longevity. Never pushing them beyond what their body and mind can take.
What does a typical training session look like?
Intro to every session will be a check in. How athletes feel physically and mentally so I can gauge how the session will go. Then we discuss what the plan is for the session at hand and where it’ll move us in future sessions. Then a thorough warmup to ensure the body is ready for whatever stress will be put onto the body. Once warmed up depending on the workout it could take majority of the session, or not so much. After warmup athletes get into the workout which will have water break. Once complete, a thorough cool down will happen to ensure the body flushes out and minor micro tears to the muscles, regulate heart rate, and to elevate and soreness that comes after. Once completed, brief convo about what to do between sessions and how to help replenish the body will happen. Then a break down before leaving. Will also confirm session details and dates with athlete and parents.
