About Me:

I played four years of college basketball, earning a spot on the All-Defensive Team during my junior year. In my senior year, I averaged 14 points per game. After college, I continued my career playing professional basketball in Mexico and Thailand.

How I can help you improve your game:

I can help players improve their game based on their specific needs. As someone who has developed my own skills to reach the professional level, I bring firsthand experience to my training. I focus on enhancing key areas such as shooting, defense, and ball handling, but my main emphasis is teaching players how to read and react during a game. My goal is to ensure they can apply what they’ve learned in real-game situations effectively.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session begins with stretching and a proper warm-up. One of the key lessons I learned from playing for Josh Howard is the importance of taking care of your body—without it, you can’t perform at your best. I make sure to instill this mindset in my players. After warming up, we start with ball-handling drills, transition into warm-up shooting, and then dive into focused skill work. I’m very detail-oriented in my approach, tailoring my teaching to help kids improve in specific areas. While I’m continually learning how to make players better, my attention to detail and dedication have consistently helped my previous players improve.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I don’t have extensive coaching experience, but I’ve coached fifth, seventh, and eighth graders and have significant experience training players at all levels. I’ve worked closely with my brother, a Division 1 player at Tennessee State, helping him develop his skills. I’ve also trained several kids in Denver who continue to improve through their work with me. My focus is on helping players grow and reach their full potential.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was Josh Howard, a former NBA player and two-time All-Star with the Dallas Mavericks. What made him stand out wasn’t just his accolades but the way he taught me the game of basketball with a professional mindset. He emphasized the fundamentals of preparing for a game and making in-game adjustments, which completely transformed my approach. He also showed me what it takes to be a professional basketball player—lessons that go beyond the court. I believe kids should learn these values early, as they can apply them to any area of life, even if they don’t pursue a professional career.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that when you train with me, I’m fully committed to helping you improve and preparing you to compete at a high level. My focus is on both your mental and physical readiness, ensuring you’re equipped to face tough competition. I genuinely care about the players I train because I want to see them succeed, not just in basketball but in life. My primary goal is player development, and if a player is willing to work hard, I’ll work even harder to help them achieve their goals. I also strive to use basketball as a tool to teach life lessons that can be applied far beyond the court. Ultimately, my goal is to guide players toward growth, both as athletes and individuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
