Skill position trainer who teaches the details kids can practice on their own.

I've spent over nine years developing youth athletes, starting when I was in the Air Force and never stopping. I train skill position players, and every athlete I work with runs the same three blocks: positional technique, speed and agility, and coordination. The complexity scales with the age and level, the foundation doesn't. My job is to find the one or two things holding your athlete back, break them into something they can own and repeat on their own, and rep it until it holds up at full speed against a real defender.

About me

I've been coaching and training youth athletes for over nine years. I got my start while serving in the Air Force, working with kids in the community around me, and I never looked back. Development is my bread and butter.

I train skill position players and I care most about the part of coaching that actually sticks: teaching an athlete something they can go practice on their own when I'm not standing there. I'm based in Austin, and I spend my weekends on the field with kids who want to get better, whether that's a first-year player learning to catch with their hands or a high schooler chasing a starting spot.

Every athlete I train works three blocks: positional technique, speed and agility, and coordination.

Positional technique is the sport-specific work. Footwork, hands, route running, hip mobility, eye discipline, the details that separate a player who's open from one who's covered. Speed and agility is the engine underneath it, because clean technique at half speed doesn't hold up on Friday night. Coordination is the block most trainers skip, and it's usually why an athlete can nail a drill in isolation but falls apart when the ball is in the air and a defender is closing.

Trained together, all three reinforce each other. Trained separately, you get a kid who looks great in warmups.

The other thing I do is diagnose. Most athletes aren't held back by ten things, they're held back by one or two. I find those, name them clearly so the athlete understands them, and we build from there instead of piling on volume.

What a typical training session looks like with me

We start with movement prep and a quick check on whatever we worked last session, so nothing gets left behind.

From there we go into speed and agility work, because that's when the legs are fresh and the mechanics are cleanest. Then we move to positional technique, working the specific skill we've targeted for that athlete, starting controlled and building up to full speed. Coordination work gets layered into both, not treated as a separate warmup.

We finish competitive. Something with a score, a rep count, or a standard to beat, because kids need to feel pressure to know whether the technique actually holds.

Before we're done, the athlete leaves with one thing to work on before the next session. Parents get a straight answer on what we did and where their kid stands. No mystery.

Over nine years coaching and training youth athletes across multiple sports, with a focus on football skill positions. I started coaching while serving in the Air Force and have kept it going ever since.

Outside of the field, I've spent more than a decade in sales leadership, most recently as a Director of Sales overseeing a team of 200-plus. Most of that job was developing people: building training programs, coaching individuals through plateaus, and figuring out how to get someone from where they are to where they want to be. Different arena, same skill.

That combination is why I run training the way I do. I've built development systems professionally, and I bring that same structure to your athlete.

Coach Mark Davis. He coached with me from 2011-2013. He was excellent at finding a way to get the best out of each of our athletes. He was also extremely sharp on the play calling side. If a tendency was found mid game, he was draw up a play to exploit it.

I'm dependable and truly just love to coach. Looking forward to working with your you and your athlete!

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
