Train with purpose. Play with confidence. Think like a pro.

I spent my career competing at the highest level of baseball, and now I help young players understand what it takes to develop both physically and mentally. My coaching focuses on hitting, outfield play, baserunning, baseball IQ, and the routines that build confident, fundamentally sound players. Every session is tailored to the athlete’s age, skill level, and goals—with an emphasis on teaching players not just what to do, but why it works.

About me

I’m a former Major League Baseball outfielder with experience competing at the highest level of the game. Since my playing career, I’ve stayed closely involved in baseball through player development, coaching, baseball technology, equipment, and youth and college programs. As a coach, my goal is to take what I learned throughout my professional career and make it practical and understandable for young players.

I work with players on hitting, outfield defense, baserunning, baseball IQ, and overall athletic development. Just as importantly, I teach players how to prepare, practice with purpose, make adjustments, and understand the situations they’ll encounter during games. I want athletes to leave our sessions knowing not only what they need to improve, but how to work on it when I’m not there.

Every session is built around the individual player. We’ll start with movement and a proper baseball-specific warm-up, then identify one or two areas we want to improve that day. Depending on the athlete, that could include swing mechanics and approach, outfield footwork and reads, throwing, baserunning, or game situations.

I like to combine focused instruction with competitive, game-like reps rather than simply taking hundreds of swings or ground balls. We’ll finish by reviewing what improved, what still needs work, and what the player should focus on before our next session.

The best coaches I had weren’t necessarily the ones who gave me the most instruction—they were the ones who helped me understand myself as a player. They knew when to teach, when to challenge me, and when to let me compete.

That’s something I try to bring to my own coaching. Every athlete learns differently, and my job isn’t to make every player look the same. It’s to help each player understand their strengths, address their weaknesses, and develop the confidence and baseball IQ to make adjustments on their own.

I’ve experienced baseball from a lot of different perspectives—as a youth player, college athlete, professional player, and now as a coach and sports parent myself. I understand that development isn’t always linear, and every athlete has different strengths, challenges, and goals.

My coaching style is positive, direct, and detail-oriented. I’ll challenge players and hold them accountable, but I also want them to enjoy coming to the field and leave each session more confident than when they arrived. I’m not interested in completely rebuilding a player just to fit one coaching philosophy. I want to understand how they move, how they learn, and what will help their game improve.

For parents, communication is important to me. I’ll be clear about what we’re working on, why we’re working on it, and what your athlete can do between sessions to continue progressing.

Most importantly, I want young athletes to develop more than mechanics. Confidence, preparation, competitiveness, baseball IQ, and learning how to make adjustments are skills that helped me reach the Major Leagues—and they’re the same skills I want to pass along to the next generation of players.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
