Try Coach Will risk free. If you don't love your first lesson, we'll switch you to another coach or give you a full refund.
I was raised with Lacrosse in my life, and my passion for this game is rivaled only by my spirit to coach it.
As an athlete, I saw and played with the best of my age, older, and younger. I've earned first team awards, second team awards, honor roll awards every year at NCAA college ball. My best memories and accomplishments, goals, groundballs, friends were made when I was having fun. We work smart, we play hard, and most importantly we have fun.
Athletes: Eat your veggies, drink lots of water, do your homework (so you don't have to miss sessions), and get a good night's sleep; those video games and phones can wait.
Equipment:
Regulation lacrosse stick (Crosse length: Shorty 40-42in | Long Pole 52-72in) - screws and butts attached, pockets that don't reveal the ball below the head of the crosse.
Helmet - meets NOCSAE standards
Gloves - Hands must fully insert
Elbow pads - should fit comfortably
Shoulder pads- should fit comfortably; adjust straps as needed (meet new NOCSAE chest plate requirements)
Rib pads - optional - should fit comfortably and not obstruct breathing.
Mouthguard- visible color other than clear or white - molded
Jock Straps - fitted and comfortable (recommend the all-in-one brief)
Cleats for outside (Must be worn during sessions)
Come prepared; bring water, snacks, sunscreen, clean socks, or whatever else our athletes need to stay healthy and active.
A good teammate is ready to lead and follow. We will all live by this motto. We are committed to seeing athletes improve, even if only by 1%.
Sessions with me will include Good Sportsmanship, unsung hero awards, lots of gameplay, we will learn both offense and defense, willingness to learn and participate, off-ball movement, stick skills, calisthenics, individual skills, team building skills, offensive and defensive strategy, stick checking, defensive positioning, dodging, ground balls, passing and catching, shooting, face-offs, clears and rides, man-up and man-down, communication, leadership, and more.
An intro to me as your Coach: I was raised on Long Island, relocated to Vermont to enjoy its wonderful lifestyle while coaching middle school boys lacrosse to three consecutive championships. I've relocated to Richmond for work and Family. I played NCAA college Lacrosse as an attackman after spending many years playing at all levels of competition in summer camps, on competitive travel teams, in tournaments, in fall ball leagues, and on varsity teams. I've played, counseled, refereed, managed, personally trained, and am certified to coach this awesome game.
I've had many coaches. My best coaches included my father, my uncle, my wall, my backyard, my travel coach, my middle school coach, and my freshman college coaches. More than that, I continue to surround myself with coaches through books, mentors, and you.
Winning is fun, and when we have given everything we have to the game, we give it 10% more. We go play our game, we have fun, and we give it 110%. We all walk away winners, and as a coach, I cant be more proud.
Please keep me informed of any athlete's absences from session. If athletes play multiple sports, providing me with schedules that interfere with their sessions will significantly benefit our time together.
We have zero time for poor/bad behavior. BE NICE: Treat each other with respect and kindness, including but not limited to teammates, parents, siblings, guardians, opponents, coaches, referees, practice grounds, game sites, etc... If you are disrespectful, lose control, waste each other's time, or display inappropriate behavior or vulgar expressions of conduct (verbally or physically), you will take a break away from gameplay for an appropriate period. (Athletes will condition with calisthenics, barrels (sprints), and bench time during their break).
If you have a real problem or something you need to discuss with me, please safely and calmly speak with me privately, in an appropriate setting, outside of our session time. I need to report some matters that are disclosed for everyone's safety.

Book and schedule your lessons through our platform.
Meet your coach in-person or virtually, and start chasing down your goals!
If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.
At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
