About Me:

With a doctorate in sport and performance psychology and master’s in clinical counseling Dr. Chad's intention is to help individuals find their optimal performance level. As an ex-professional golfer and formally trained 4-star chef Dr. Chad understands what mental performance means and how it affects other parts of life. With experience working with athletes at all levels as well as chefs and business clients Dr. Chad brings a unique perspective that creates long lasting relationships.

On a personal note, Dr. Chad is an individual who lives with disabilities. His struggles give him a unique perspective on human stress, pressure and how setbacks affect performers. Of his interest Dr. Chad is a motivational speaker, an accomplished chef, a previous senior coach for the New Orleans chapter of First Tee, and advocate for athletes with disabilities. Dr. Chad is an active member of the Association of Applied Sports Psychology and is contributes to research in athletes with disabilities creating resiliency and how those lessons can be applied to others.

Having true belief in yourself can be very difficult. I will work with you to create and deliver the mental skills training program that builds the trust you need. Expand your performance potential.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical lesson would be working on the identified roadblocks to peak mental performance. This can be in person or virtual, for example: perfectionism, Dr. Chad will work with the client on working on self-identity and creating intentionality in the approach to sport instead of having and living in a world of expectations. This would be more of conversation working through and understanding how to develop and begin working on thought change and self-work.

In person in action: Athlete is having an issue when shooting to net in soccer. Dr. Chad will work with the athlete on the pitch teaching imagery and how to create the mental environment and have that concept to transfer to perform when the chance to score presents itself.

Career summary and accomplishments:

With a very full life of careers Dr. Chad as a chef was highlighted in magazines such as Southern living and multiple articles in local papers and national publications. As an athlete Dr. Chad was highlighted as a youth baseball player and golfer because of his disability and later on as a teaching and playing professional golfer. As a Dr. of Sport and Performance specialist Dr. Chad has contributed to several books on mental skills, has given international webinars on the use of imagery and has presented and held workshops at the international Sport Psychology conference and has given talks on polyvagal theory and the use to regulate arousal rates during elite performance.

The best coach I have ever had was my golf swing coach Ruben. He was instrumental in molding me not just into a top tiered athlete but also as an athlete that cares about the people around me and understand what it is to give back to the community especially the young up and coming athletes.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

What athletes and parents should know about me is that I make sure the athlete understands the material being taught. I understand that people learn differently and work with the athlete to figure that out. My flexibility of thought process allows me to reach athletes that others have problems getting through to. I also keep things real and don't inflate the athlete ego. My intention is to help the athlete to perform at their optimal performance level.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
