Summary of Career and Accomplishments
A multi-sport athlete, I competed in football, baseball, and basketball throughout high school before continuing my baseball career at Charleston Southern University as a shortstop and pitcher. At Lancaster High School, I earned numerous accolades, including: Baseball MVP (2008, 2009) and Basketball MVP (2008, 2009) All-Region (AAAA, Region 3) selection in baseball Scottie Munn Award for leadership, character, and sportsmanship Team Captain for Football (2009), Baseball (2008, 2009), and Basketball (2008, 2009) With a strong background in leadership and high-level competition, I bring experience, discipline, and a passion for developing athletes to their highest potential.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was South Carolina High School League Hall of Famer, Coach Steve Williams. From my early days in elementary school through high school, he not only helped me develop my baseball skills but also shaped me as a person. His patience, dedication, and passion for the game made every practice and game a learning experience. Beyond baseball, he taught me valuable life lessons about discipline, perseverance, and character. He always had an open-door policy, was genuinely caring and supportive, and brought humor and encouragement to every situation. Coach Williams wasn’t just a great coach—he was a mentor who made a lasting impact on my life.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athletes and parents should know that my coaching goes beyond just developing baseball skills—I genuinely care about each athlete as a player and a person. I believe that success in baseball translates to success in life, and I strive to instill sportsmanship, leadership, discipline, and confidence in every athlete I work with. Whether it’s on the field or off, my goal is to help young athletes grow into better players, better teammates, and better individuals who are prepared for whatever challenges come their way.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I have two years of coaching experience with the Lancaster High School baseball program, where I have helped develop athletes at the varsity level by focusing on fundamentals, strategy, and leadership. In addition to coaching high school baseball, I have also led youth baseball clinics in the area, working with young athletes to teach the game, build confidence, and instill a strong work ethic. Throughout my playing and coaching career, I have had the privilege of learning from some amazing coaches, and I continue to implement many of their philosophies in my own coaching style. My approach emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and a love for the game, ensuring that players not only improve on the field but also grow as individuals. Through hands-on instruction and mentorship, I am committed to helping athletes reach their full potential at every level of the game.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I help athletes improve their game by focusing on fundamentals, building confidence, and developing a strong mindset. Every player is unique, so I tailor my coaching to their individual strengths and areas for growth, whether it’s refining mechanics, improving game awareness, or increasing overall athletic performance. I emphasize proper technique, repetition, and mental toughness, ensuring that players not only execute skills correctly but also understand the strategy behind them. I create a positive and supportive environment, where athletes feel challenged yet encouraged to push beyond their limits. By reinforcing discipline, sportsmanship, and a love for the game, I help players become smarter, stronger, and more well-rounded competitors, both on and off the field.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session designed to be flexible and tailored to each athlete’s needs. I begin with a warm-up, focusing on mobility and activating key muscle groups needed for pitching, hitting, or fielding. Following this, I assess the athlete's specific areas of focus, whether it’s pitching mechanics, off-speed pitch development, hitting technique, or fielding fundamentals. For pitchers, the session often includes drills such as the towel drill and balance drill to emphasize command and body control. We also do live game situations or bullpen work to help pitchers practice in a controlled yet challenging environment. I focus on mental toughness and in-game adjustments, pushing athletes to stay composed under pressure. When working with hitters, I focus on mechanics, pitch recognition, and timing. Drills like soft toss, tee work, or situational hitting help develop muscle memory and consistency. Depending on the individual, I adjust the intensity, length, or focus of drills to ensure progress. For fielders, I emphasize footwork, agility, and hands, ensuring they are able to get into the proper position quickly and make clean, accurate throws. Drills such as quick reactions off the bat, fielding ground balls from different angles, and turning double plays help reinforce defensive fundamentals. We also work on situational awareness, like knowing where to throw in a fast-paced game scenario. Fielding drills often vary based on the athlete’s position (infield vs. outfield) and their specific development goals, whether it’s improving range, speed, or consistency in their throws. I include a debrief at the end of each session to review what went well and areas that need further work, always leaving the athlete with a sense of direction for their next training session. My coaching approach ensures that the session is relevant and personalized, whether it’s working on specific pitch types for pitchers, refining a batter’s swing, or enhancing a fielder’s defensive skills.
