About Me:

I am a basketball lifer. Having played at the high school level and serving as student manager while in undergrad at the University of Georgia, basketball is in my blood. I love using the game of basketball as a platform to impact the lives of the young men that I've coached both at the high school and college level.

How I can help you improve your game:

Having spent 15 years at the college level, I understand what it takes for players to achieve success as a college level and even professional level athlete. I have worked with numerous coaches in my career who have been impactful to me in building my career as a coach and teacher of the game.

I am believer in skill development and fundamentals. One of my favorite quotes of all-time is from the late, great Kobe Bryant. "Master the boring". Basketball is a simple game where mastering the basic skill sets and honing in on those skills versus being overly complex can provide players with opportunities for a productive and long career.

I am all about the preparation of a player as well. I want to prepare my players for whatever the game of basketball presents to them over the course of their careers. In addition to on the court work, I believe in the power of film as a tool that can vastly improve a players mental ability to process the game.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

I vary the session from player to player, and level to level. We always start with a warm up drill to get loose. Typically I like to work on 2-3 skills where we get a lot of reps during those certain drills. Shooting is usually always incorporated as much as possible. I'll then take those 2-3 skills and work to use them in game like situations where players learn to use those skills and learn the game. We will finish with a segment that works on mental toughness. I believe in closing out the workout with something that challenges an athlete, especially when they're tired. And the last thing I have them do, is end the day on a make. Never leave the gym with your last shot being a miss.

For film sessions, I like to break down both individual players games and the positive impact they made but also what they can do to better themselves and their teams. I also look overall at a team concept and like show the game from a 30,000 foot lenses in order improve basketball IQ.

Best coach I ever had:

While at Young Harris College, I worked for a coach named Pete Herrmann who had over a 40 year career as a college basketball coach, including coaching NBA Hall of Famer and NBA Champion David Robinson while the head coach of the Naval Academy.

He taught me all about the preparation of the game as much as the skill of a player and team. I emulate his positive energy and enthusiasm when I coach and like to bring his competitive fire as well.

At the end of the day, it's all about the players. I make my career as a coach all about the players.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am about YOU, the athlete. Basketball is not a job for me. It's a calling. I love helping my athletes achieve their dreams and goals. I also am about teaching the game of life. At some point the ball stops bouncing and I believe that while I can pour into a player about the game, I also want to prepare athletes for life after basketball. Basketball is a beautiful platform to accomplish both---improving as a player and as a person.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
