Get to know Coach Breanna

About Me:

I've been coaching collegiate cross country and track and field for 5 years. My coaching career started in 2021 after I graduated from Westminster College (PA). There, I was a varsity letter winner in cross country and track for 4 years. My most successful event was the 1500 (5:10.60).

I started as a volunteer coach at Allegheny College. I worked directly with head coach Ben Mourer, helping him manage his 40 person roster. That fall, our women's team won the NCAC Championship and went on to qualify for the NCAA XC Championship. At Allegheny, I fell in love with coaching and the process of transforming athletes into their best selves. And I wanted more.

That lead me to North Central College (IL). From 2022-2024, I was the women's cross country/track & field graduate assistant coach. I learned more of the behind the scenes work of a coach like recruiting, while improving my knowledge on training structure. The women won four CCIW track and field championships (two indoor and two outdoor) during my time there. Working primarily with the distance/mid-distance squad, these women were valuable components to those championships. Julia Benes, an All-Conference and All-Region runner, was a prime example of what hard work and determination is.

In 2024, I was hired at Albion College as the assistant cross country/track & field coach. In my first full-time coaching role, I had the pleasure of working with Olivia DeGraaf. Liv was an All-MIAA cross country runner her senior year and someone who led by example. On the men's side, Logan Vining has been the star. In his sophomore year, he put up a 1:53.81 in the 800m. This was 6 seconds faster than his opening 800m time at the beginning of the season. I'm looking forward to working with Logan over the next two years!

How I can help you improve your game:

I will help you train through a structured training plan and organize workouts to get you feeling your best, fastest self! I also offer supplemental training, such as lifting and cross training, to keep you injury free.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session will comprise of a workout with a warm up, cool down and prescribed paces specifically to you. An explanation of each workout is always given so you understand the big picture and how it's going to help you. Feedback on pacing, form and execution will also be provided during the workout.

Career summary and accomplishments:

While at Allegheny: ● Coached 7 All-Conference athletes ● 2021 NCAC Champion (women’s cross country) and runner-up (men’s cross country) ● Women’s team qualified for NCAA Cross Country Nationals While at NCC: ● Coached 14 All-Conference athletes ● Coached 4 All-Region athletes (2023 and 2024) ● CCIW Cross Country Championship runner-up in 2022 ● Third place finish at CCIW Cross Country Championship in 2023 ● Coached Julia Benes, 2x All-Conference in the Mile and 3,000m ● 2024 CCIW Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Champions ● 2023 CCIW Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Champions While at Albion: ● Coached Liv DeGraaf to a 2nd team All-MIAA performance in cross country (2024) ● Women’s DMR school record (13:04.95) ● 8 Top 10 Indoor Performances ● 2 Top 10 Outdoor Performances ● Logan Vining 6th in 800m and 7th in 1600m at 2025 Indoor Championships ● Logan Vining 3rd place finish in 800m at 2025 Outdoor Championships ● Liv DeGraaf 8th place finish in 5000m at 2025 Outdoor Championships

Best coach I ever had:

Bill Hetrick - my high school coach

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I'm here to teach your son/daughter about running and its various different phases and WHY training is phased a certain way. When you know the why, you can easily structure a successful plan to reach your goals. I expect good communication, effort and coachability. If you're a high school athlete, I will only provide training for you in the off-season - your high school coach's training should be followed in-season.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
