Build the mental skills to perform with confidence when it matters most.
I help athletes develop the mental skills to perform with greater confidence, focus, and consistency. Through individualized mental performance coaching, I help athletes turn challenges into practical strategies they can use in training and competition.
Mental performance training can help you:
- Build more consistent confidence and self-belief
- Respond more effectively to mistakes and setbacks
- Improve focus and concentration during competition
- Manage nerves, pressure, and performance anxiety
- Develop effective pre-performance routines
- Improve your ability to reset after mistakes
- Strengthen mental toughness and emotional control
- Set meaningful goals and create a plan to reach them
- Improve preparation and practice habits
- Handle adversity, slumps, injuries, or transitions
- Develop a healthier and more productive relationship with performance
- Better understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors affect your game
The goal is not to eliminate nerves, mistakes, or difficult moments. Those are part of sport. The goal is to help you respond to those moments more effectively and continue competing with clarity and purpose.
No two sessions look exactly the same because no two athletes are exactly the same.
A typical session may include:
Check-in and reflection:
We start by identifying what has been happening since our last session. This may include recent practices, competitions, challenges, successes, or situations that did not go as planned.
Identify the performance challenge:
We work to understand what is actually getting in the way. Sometimes the issue is confidence. Sometimes it is overthinking, fear of failure, difficulty responding to mistakes, inconsistent preparation, or trouble staying focused.
Learn and practice a mental skill:
We introduce a strategy that connects directly to the athlete's needs. This could include self-talk, attentional control, breathing, visualization, goal setting, routines, refocusing strategies, or approaches for managing pressure.
Apply the skill to sport-specific situations:
The goal is to connect the skill to real moments in competition. We may work through a difficult at-bat, a missed shot, a poor start, a close game, a mistake in front of teammates, or any other situation the athlete regularly encounters.
Create an action plan:
Athletes leave with something specific to practice before the next session. Mental skills improve through repetition, just like physical skills.
My overall goal is for athletes to leave with greater awareness, a practical strategy, and a clear understanding of how to apply it.
I have worked with athletes and teams across youth, high school, collegiate, professional, and elite athletic environments.
My experience includes:
NBA G League -- Third-Party Mental Performance Consultant: Provided individual mental performance coaching to professional basketball players within the San Diego Clippers organization while collaborating with relevant performance and support staff.
WNBA -- Third-Party Mental Performance Consultant: Supported the Los Angeles Sparks through the development of mental performance resources, reflection prompts, and educational materials.
Texas 6A High School Athletics: Provided mental performance consulting across multiple sports, including football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, water polo, swimming and diving, tennis, and track and field.
Collegiate Athletics: Worked with collegiate athletes and teams, including Queens
College Women's Volleyball and collegiate summer league baseball.
Individual Athlete Coaching: Work with athletes to develop practical skills related to confidence, focus, emotional control, resilience, preparation, goal setting, and performance under pressure.
My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Psychology and master's degrees in Counseling & Development and Sport & Exercise Psychology. I have also completed the experience requirements for the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and am currently completing the certification process.
The coach I admired most was a football position coach I had in high school.
He was a kind but stern military man who knew how to challenge athletes without belittling them or making them feel less than. If you made a mistake, you'd have to do pushups or run, but the discipline was never about humiliating you. It was about accountability, standards, and helping you become better.
What stood out most was the respect he earned. He was demanding, but he was also someone players trusted. You knew he cared about your development, and you knew his expectations came from a genuine belief that you were capable of more.
That experience has influenced the way I approach working with athletes. I believe athletes should be challenged, held accountable, and encouraged to grow, but they should also feel respected, supported, and safe enough to be honest about what they are struggling with.
The best coaches do not make athletes feel small in order to make them better. They help athletes believe they are capable of more and then challenge them to prove it.
I believe the athlete should be at the center of the process.
My role is not to tell athletes exactly what to think or give them a script for how to perform. Instead, I help athletes understand themselves better, develop skills that fit their individual needs, and learn how to take greater ownership of their performance.
I also believe that progress is not always immediately reflected in statistics, playing time, or results. Sometimes progress looks like responding differently after a mistake, staying engaged when things are not going well, preparing more intentionally, or having a more productive conversation with a coach.
For parents, the most important thing to know is that mental performance coaching is a collaborative process. I value communication with parents while also respecting the athlete's independence and the importance of creating a space where athletes can be honest.
My approach is supportive but not passive. I will listen, ask questions, challenge athletes when appropriate, and help them take practical steps toward their goals.
Most importantly, I want athletes to understand that they are more than their performance. The goal is to help them become better competitors while also developing skills that can serve them far beyond their sport.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
