Hi I am B, a mental performance consultant who takes a holistic, person-centered approach to supporting athletes on and off the field. I believe each athlete’s experiences are different and unique, so my work focuses on understanding the individual and helping them identify the tools and build the skills necessary to sustain performance and while staying connected to their values and goals. A core part of my approach is supporting athletes in building self-awareness and mindfulness so they can better recognize, regroup, refocus, and respond. Through this process, athletes strengthen skills such as emotional regulation, composure, focus, resilience, and confidence in both training and competition. Additionally, I value collaboration within sport systems and enjoy working with coaches to help identify gaps to enhance environments that support sustainable performance and athlete well-being. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, and I bring lived experience as a former collegiate NCAA athlete and member of the Puerto Rican gymnastics national team, becoming the first Puerto Rican woman to win a gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

About Me:

I am a former high-performing athlete who understands the pressures and overall experiences of competing in high-performance environments and skills necessary to navigate them effectively. Outside of my athletic background and consulting knowledge and experience, I continue to view myself as a learner. I approach this work with curiosity, recognizing athletes and clients as the experts on themselves. My role is to create a space that supports exploration, growth, and the development of the skills needed to sustain both performance and well-being.

On a more interpersonal level, I value enjoyment and fun and lead with the intention of creating opportunities for growth and performance enhancement while weaving in elements of enjoyment that help athletes stay connected to their passion for sport.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session is conversational, collaborative, and interactive, as I often create opportunities for reflection and intervention that strengthen understanding of the self, both as a person and as an athlete. Developing this self-awareness is essential for achieving performance excellence, as it allows athletes to explore the “what,” “why,” and “how” behind their performance. Performance improves as athletes develop a greater understanding of themselves not only on the field, court, or stage, but also off it, integrating personal growth with athletic development.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I have 17+ years of athletic experience including, club, NCAA collegiate, Puerto Rican National Team, and international (World Cups & World Championships and Olympic Qualifiers) experience. My accomplishments include, becoming the first Puerto Rican female gymnast to win gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games (CACG), receiving a full athletic scholarship, and breaking/actively holding program records.

Outside of my athletic experience, my career accomplishments include coaching gymnasts at multiple levels, completing training in the #1 Mental Performance and Sport Psychology graduate program at the University of Denver, and supporting individual clients in achieving their performance goals, one of whom has gone on to break program records of their own.

They taught me to approach my game through the lens of fun, encouraging a deeper connection with my “why.” This experience taught me that performance and enjoyment are not separate, but rather that connection to purpose and joy can be powerful drivers to achieve performance excellence.

I approach mental performance coaching with a fun, collaborative, and athlete-centered mindset. I believe athletes perform their best when they feel supported, engaged, and empowered to take ownership of their growth. I value open communication and work to build trust with both athletes and their support systems, creating a space where questions, reflection, and dialogue are always welcome.

I emphasize autonomy, helping athletes explore strategies, tools, and routines that work best for them. I also prioritize collaboration, not just with athletes, but with parents and coaches when appropriate, to ensure that the environment(s) around the athlete supports both performance and well-being.

Ultimately, I strive to make mental performance coaching practical, enjoyable, and meaningful, helping athletes strengthen the skills necessary to accomplish their goals.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
