About Me:

I’m Malik, a lifelong athlete, coach, and girl dad who cares just as much about the person as the player. I’ve spent the last 10+ years helping youth, high school, and adult athletes move better, get faster, and stay healthy, with a strong focus on soccer performance and long-term development.

What really drives me is seeing an athlete gain confidence—going from unsure or overlooked to feeling strong, prepared, and proud of their game. I know families juggle school, teams, and life, so I work with parents and athletes to build a plan that fits real schedules, protects the body, and keeps the love of the game intact. My goal is simple: when your athlete trains with me, you know they’re in good hands as a player and as a person.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help athletes build the physical tools that show up directly on the field—accelerating quicker, changing direction sharper, staying strong in duels, and lasting longer late in games. I design programs around your position, schedule, and current level, so you’re not just “working hard,” you’re working smart. We’ll clean up your movement, address weaknesses, and turn your strengths into true weapons.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A session with me is structured, focused, and supportive. We’ll start with a proper warm-up and movement prep, then move into speed, agility, and strength work that’s tailored to your needs and training age. I coach every rep with clear cues and feedback, adjust the session based on how you’re feeling that day, and finish with a short finisher or cooldown so you leave tired but not broken—and knowing exactly what you improved.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I’ve spent the last decade coaching athletes in performance gyms, on the field, and in remote settings, with an emphasis on soccer performance. I founded More Than Fit to provide high-quality, individualized training for youth and adult athletes, and previously led performance and athlete development for a large Chicago-based soccer club, building club-wide speed, strength, and conditioning programs. I’ve coached hundreds of athletes across ages and levels and hold multiple certifications in sports performance, youth exercise, and soccer-specific strength and conditioning, including advanced ISSPF credentials.

Coach Clint is the best coach I ever had. He wasn’t the loudest or the flashiest—he was consistent, honest, and fully invested. Coach Clint held a high standard, but always explained the “why” behind it and made me feel seen as a person, not just a player. That mix of accountability and real care is what I try to bring into my own coaching every day.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I’m big on communication, consistency, and safety. I’ll always be honest about where an athlete is, what they need, and how we’re going to get there, and I’ll never sacrifice long-term health for short-term results. I expect effort, openness, and follow-through, and in return I’ll show up prepared, adapt around games and school, and stay in your corner through setbacks and wins. My goal is to help athletes become more resilient, confident people—not just better players.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
