Get to know Coach Austin

About Me:

I began playing football in third grade and continued my playing career through college, competing at both the Division II and Division III levels. Throughout my time as an athlete, I developed into a true jack-of-all-trades, gaining experience at multiple positions across both sides of the ball. I primarily played quarterback in middle school, running back in high school and college, and linebacker at both the high school and collegiate levels.

My diverse playing background has allowed me to understand the game from every angle. I’ve played and coached in various offensive systems, including the triple option, West Coast, and spread offenses. On defense, I’m most experienced with the 4-2-5 scheme but have also worked within 4-3, 3-4, and 5-2 defensive fronts.

How I can help you improve your game:

This versatility and experience have shaped how I coach today—focusing on strong fundamentals, sound football IQ, and adaptability to help every athlete grow and reach their full potential.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session with me starts by getting to know you—not just as an athlete, but as a person. I take the time to understand your goals, what you want to accomplish during the session, and how I can best tailor our work to fit your specific needs.

Every workout begins with a strong focus on fundamentals, as mastering the basics is the foundation of every great player. Once those core skills are solid, we progress into more advanced, position-specific techniques designed to challenge you and elevate your game to the next level. I like to end with a cool down and review how session went and what to focus on before our next session

Career summary and accomplishments:

I bring over 16 years of football experience as both a player and coach, with a strong background in leadership, player development, and film analysis. I was a three-year varsity letterman in high school and maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher as a student-athlete in both high school and college.

My playing career includes two seasons of collegiate football—one at the Division III level and one at the Division II level—followed by two years of coaching experience at the Division II level, where I helped develop nine All-GLIAC players during the 2025 season. In addition, I have five years of experience as an amateur-level NFL scout, specializing in player evaluation and film breakdown.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was my eighth-grade football coach at Jenkins Middle School, Coach Kirkendall. He was a towering 6'4" presence with a booming voice that could command a room, and he never hesitated to let you know when you did something right—or wrong. But what made him truly special was his balance of discipline and compassion.

Coach Kirkendall wasn’t just committed to making us better football players; he was dedicated to helping us grow into responsible, respectful young men. His influence left a lasting impact on me, and I credit much of who I am today to the lessons he instilled both on and off the field.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

What I want parents and athletes to know about me is that I’m a Christian first and a coach second. My approach to coaching goes beyond developing football skills—I strive to teach life lessons, build character, and encourage personal growth both on and off the field.

I’m deeply passionate about coaching and dedicated to helping each athlete reach their full, God-given potential. My goal is to cultivate not only stronger players but also confident, motivated individuals who carry those values into all areas of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.

  • Easy rescheduling — Cancel or reschedule up to 4 hours before a lesson, no questions asked.

  • Coach no-shows — You'll be fully credited and we'll help you find a replacement.
