Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
Due to an injury, I wasn't unable to pursue college basketball careers, which led me to shift my focus to helping develop my brother, Tj Bamba, who is currently playing for Oregon University Men Basketball. Throughout his journey, I’ve reached several milestones in his development. At his previous school, Villanova University, I took on the role of sports manager where I was responsible for overseeing the business and logistical aspects of the team and players. This role allowed me to build strong trust with the team and players, opening opportunities to assist with marketing, sponsorships, career planning, and public relations to help maximize their professional opportunities and enhance their brand.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coaches I ever had were Kenneth Gucc Robinson, Kyle Neptune, Tim Burns, Dana Altman, John Shackleton and Alex Coombs. These coaches have played a positive influence in my life by providing guidance, instilling a strong work ethic, and teaching me the value of discipline and perseverance, all while pushing me to be the best version of myself both on and off the court.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athlete parents should know that a skill/strength coach not only focuses on improving athletic performance but also prioritizes injury prevention, mental toughness, and overall development, ensuring their child’s long-term growth both as an athlete and a person.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I’ve recently joined The Winchendon School NYC as an assistant coach for the boys basketball team this season. This is the program second year with a basketball team, and after a tough 2023-2024 season with a record under .500, we’ve turned things around and are now currently 24-18. Currently, we’re competing in three different leagues: NEPS, Empire 8, and CSAL and are preparing for the playoffs.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I can improve a player's game by providing tailored drills and techniques that enhance their fundamentals, increase basketball IQ, and build the necessary skills to excel in every aspect of the game, from shooting to ball-handling and defense.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session includes a dynamic warm-up, followed by focused drills to improve shooting, ball-handling, footwork, and defense, along with personalized feedback and conditioning to enhance overall performance and basketball IQ.
