Building the relationship first, with the results to follow

I'm a recent graduate with a Master's degree in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College, and I played and coached college rugby myself, so I've been on both the field and the sidelines of high-pressure competition. Over the past two years, I've worked with youth all the way to national-level collegiate athletes in basketball, hockey, baseball, soccer, and wrestling, where I ran both team workshops and one-on-one sessions. What sets me apart is that I keep things relaxed and real, because it is easier to open up with someone who genuinely cares to listen. I care about who an athlete is as a person first, and the performance piece follows from that.

About me

I'm Anthony, a Mental Performance Coach with a Master's degree in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College and a Bachelor's in Psychology from Fordham University. I was also an athlete myself, playing rugby at the Division I level at Fordham and then continuing at Springfield, where I also stepped into a coaching role. Being in both roles as a player and coach has helped shape how I think about this work. I know what it feels like to struggle with confidence, deal with a difficult team dynamic, or feel stuck in your own head before a big game, because I've lived through all of it.

Over the past two years, I've worked with athletes across a wide range of sports and levels, from youth soccer players to national-level collegiate wrestlers, along with basketball, hockey, and baseball athletes in between. My work has included both team-based workshops on things like confidence, communication, and performing under pressure, as well as one-on-one sessions built around each athlete's specific goals, from creating pre-performance routines to practicing visualization techniques together.

My style is pretty simple: I'm relaxed, direct, and easy to talk to, because I've found that athletes open up faster with someone who feels like a real person rather than a clinician reading off a script. I care about who you are as a person just as much as how you perform in your sport, and I believe the two are more connected than people often think.

Outside of coaching, I'm a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and I spent years playing jazz music at a high level, so I bring a broad understanding of what high performance and pressure look like across different areas of life. I'm looking forward to bringing that same relaxed, relationship-first approach to the athletes I work with here.

I start every relationship the same way, by getting to know you as a person, not just an athlete. From there, we work together to identify what you are hoping to achieve with our time together and we set clear goals from there. After that, I help you develop the mental skills that fit your specific situation, whatever that looks like for you, so you walk away with tools you can actually use on your own, not just during our sessions. I treat this as a trial-and-error approach, because some tools may work for some athletes but not for others.

I also run team workshops for groups looking to build stronger communication, trust, and culture together.

Whether you're working through something specific or just want a consistent space to grow, I meet you where you're at.

Sessions run either 30 minutes or a full hour, depending on what fits your schedule. We usually start by checking in on how practices and games have been going, then dig into whatever mental challenges are showing up for you at the moment. From there, we work together on mental skills you can use to handle those challenges going forward. If film is available, we'll watch it together and talk through the mental side of specific moments in real time.

Athletic Career: Played Division I rugby at Fordham University and Division III rugby at Springfield College, where I also served as an assistant coach, helping the team reach a top-4 finish at the CRC National 7s

Certifications: Mental Health First Aid, Certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Nutrition Coach

A coach who genuinely cared about me as a whole person. He cared about my schoolwork, my weekend plans, my family and friends, and life beyond the sport. He was also incredibly positive, which instilled confidence in me and made it easier to bounce back when mistakes inevitably happened.

My approach is built on getting to know you as a person first, because that's what makes the actual performance work stick. I've been an athlete myself, so I understand the pressure an athlete can be under, and I'm committed to helping them build tools they can rely on well beyond our time working together. I take this work seriously, holding a Master's degree in Athletic Counseling and standing as a CMPC applicant.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
