MLB baseball performance scientist and freelanced baseball coach

Former Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies performance science professional offering personalized baseball lessons that combine proven biomechanics and fundamentals feedback to help young athletes build better mechanics, confidence, and long-term development.

About me

I’ve spent my career at the intersection of baseball, performance science, and data. I’ve worked with the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies, supported athlete testing and biomechanics work, and studied how movement, performance, and technology can be used to help players improve. I also played baseball through the varsity high school level, so I understand the game both from a player’s perspective and from the professional side. My goal as a coach is to make advanced concepts simple, practical, and useful for each athlete.

I can help athletes improve hitting, throwing, movement quality, mechanics, and overall baseball performance by combining strong fundamentals with biomechanics and data-driven feedback. I focus on identifying what is actually limiting performance, then building a simple plan around the athlete’s age, skill level, goals, and movement patterns. I want players to understand why an adjustment works, not just copy a drill. The goal is to create better habits, improve consistency, and help athletes become more confident and adaptable on the field.

Each session starts with a quick assessment of the athlete’s goals, recent performance, and any specific areas they want to improve. From there, we work through targeted drills focused on mechanics, movement quality, timing, and game-relevant skills. I provide clear feedback throughout the session and adjust the plan based on how the athlete responds. When appropriate, I also use video, performance data, and biomechanics concepts to make feedback more objective. We finish by reviewing the main takeaways and giving the athlete a few specific things to work on before the next session.

I have professional baseball experience with the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies in performance science, player development, data operations, and analytics. I have also worked in sports technology and biomechanics, including motion capture, force plates, Hawk-Eye, TrackMan, KinaTrax, Theia3D, Qualisys, and other athlete-performance systems. I am completing a master’s degree in Kinesiology with a biomechanics concentration and hold a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. My background allows me to combine baseball knowledge, coaching, biomechanics, technology, and data analysis in a way that is practical for athlete development.

The best coaches I had were the ones who could explain the game clearly, hold players accountable, and still make development enjoyable. They did not try to make every athlete look or play exactly the same. Instead, they understood each player’s strengths and helped them build confidence through preparation and repetition. That approach has shaped how I coach. I want athletes to understand what they are working on, feel comfortable asking questions, and leave each session knowing exactly how they can continue improving.

My priority is long-term development, not quick fixes. I want athletes to improve their skills while also becoming more confident, knowledgeable, and independent players. I communicate clearly with both athletes and parents about what we are working on and why. My background in professional baseball and biomechanics gives me access to advanced concepts, but I believe coaching should stay simple and age-appropriate. I will never overload a young athlete with unnecessary information. The goal is to give each player the right amount of feedback, create a positive training environment, and help them make measurable progress over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
