Get to know Coach Amanda

About Me:

I’m a strength and conditioning coach who helps athletes move better, train smarter, and perform at their highest level. My approach is science-based and athlete-centered, with a strong focus on gait analysis, movement assessments, and injury prevention—because performance starts with how your body moves.

I primarily work with field hockey and softball athletes, designing training programs that build explosive speed, agility, and sport-specific strength while reinforcing proper mechanics. Every athlete moves differently, which is why I tailor each session to the athlete’s position, style of play, and individual needs.

My goal is simple: help athletes stay healthy, move efficiently, and compete with confidence. When movement inefficiencies are addressed and training becomes intentional, performance improves—and injuries are far less likely to get in the way.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help you improve your game by starting with how you move. Through gait analysis and movement assessments, I identify inefficiencies, imbalances, and injury risk factors that may be limiting your performance. From there, I build a strength and conditioning plan that develops explosive speed, agility, and sport-specific strength while reinforcing proper mechanics.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Each session starts with a dynamic warm-up designed to prepare your body for the demands of your sport, focusing on mobility, activation, and proper movement patterns. From there, we move into strength and power work that targets speed, agility, and sport-specific strength based on your position and individual needs.

Throughout the session, I coach proper mechanics, breathing, and body control to help reduce injury risk and improve efficiency. Training may include sprint work, change-of-direction drills, strength training, and core stability, all intentionally selected to support your performance on the field.

Sessions finish with targeted accessory work or recovery-based movements to reinforce good movement habits and support long-term athletic development.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I am a strength and conditioning coach with 17 years of experience helping athletes move better, train smarter, and perform at a higher level. As a former athlete, I bring both lived experience and professional expertise to every session, understanding what it takes to compete, stay healthy, and develop confidence through intentional training. My coaching approach is science-based and movement-focused, with a strong emphasis on gait analysis, movement assessments, and injury prevention. I hold advanced certifications including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Certified Gait Analyst, and USA Field Hockey Level 1 Coach. These credentials allow me to bridge performance training with technical movement analysis. I specialize in working with field hockey and softball athletes, designing individualized programs that improve explosive speed, agility, sport-specific strength, and efficient mechanics. Over the course of my career, I’ve coached athletes across multiple age groups and competitive levels, helping them reduce injury risk, move with purpose, and compete with confidence.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was my high school field hockey coach. She was tough—but it was tough love. Practices were hard. We ran doubles. We did two-a-days. She pushed us beyond what we thought we could handle.

But she was also funny, fun, and entertaining. She knew when to push and when to lighten the mood. That balance made us better athletes—and stronger people.

That mix of discipline, care, and connection is something I carry into my own coaching today.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Not only am I highly qualified and credentialed, but I bring real experience to my coaching—both as an athlete and as someone who has worked through injuries and the process of coming back stronger. I understand firsthand that returning from injury isn’t just physical; it’s mental, emotional, and confidence-based.

That perspective shapes how I coach. I know what it takes to rebuild trust in your body, stay disciplined through setbacks, and continue showing up when progress feels slow. My role isn’t just to program workouts—it’s to guide athletes through the process with structure, intention, and support.

I coach with high standards, care deeply about athlete development, and emphasize smart training that builds resilience, confidence, and long-term success. Experience, dedication, and understanding what it truly takes—those are the foundations of my coaching.
