About Me:

My name is Alex Morici, and I am currently a second-year graduate student at Springfield College where I am studying clinical mental health counseling with a concentration in athletic counseling. In that, I have helped athletes of all backgrounds (for both males and females) including, but not limited to basketball, swimming, wrestling, field hockey, volleyball, soccer, track & field, lacrosse, gymnastics, football, softball, and baseball to take their performance to the next level.

How I can help you improve your game:

You will find that I am patient and am willing to work with you until we can work towards solutions that best suit you. I will give you the skills to help you build your game. Your job is to apply them. Even if it means that you are having troubles applying them, that is something we can work on too. I will meet you where you meet me!

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical individual session with me holds a non-judgmental, confidential/private, and safe space where we can explore specific sport performance goals and/or challenges that you want to work towards or overcome. This can include things like managing pressure, sharpening focus, building confidence, improving mental toughness, and all else alike. From there, I will serve as your guide in determining what mental performance skills/techniques (ex: visualization, mindfulness, mental reset, etc.) can best serve you in your sport performance. This is a gradual process, and these sessions are had not just to talk about improvement, but to actively build it.

Career summary and accomplishments:

Springfield College Graduate Athletic Counselor (2024-2026):

- Observed practices and games from numerous Springfield College teams (i.e., basketball, field hockey, and track & field)

- Periodically facilitated 45-minute mental performance/skills workshops for Springfield College teams

- Delivered brief, 15-minute workshops at off-campus sites to youth athletes of varying sport backgrounds (e.g., soccer, lacrosse, football, basketball, gymnastics, etc.)

- Provided individual counseling in efforts to aid athlete desires towards optimal sport performance

- Worked at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in early 2025/2026 by giving brief mental skill techniques to top high school basketball recruits

Best coach I ever had:

Although I played both Division III and USCAA DII collegiate basketball where I was surrounded by experienced coaches, the best coach I ever had was Lee Van Horn -- my AAU coach in my younger years.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I ensure that I provide a safe environment, and every athlete with the opportunity to grow both as an athlete, and as a person by instilling discipline, dedication, and consistency that I will replicate as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.

  • Easy rescheduling — Cancel or reschedule up to 4 hours before a lesson, no questions asked.

  • Coach no-shows — You'll be fully credited and we'll help you find a replacement.

  • Flexible credits — Unused lessons last 12 months and can be used with any coach on the platform.
