As a former NCAA Division III combo guard, I understand what it takes to develop as a player, and I now apply that knowledge to training athletes in Orange County. My sessions emphasize strong fundamentals, smart habits, and game-like repetition, while also building confidence, discipline, and basketball IQ. I take a personalized approach with each player, creating structured sessions that challenge them, keep them engaged, and help them translate practice into real game improvement. Whether a beginner or experienced player, my goal is to help athletes get better, enjoy the process, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

I’ve loved basketball for as long as I can remember, and I’m just as passionate about teaching the game as I am about playing it. I’m a former NCAA Division III combo guard who now trains youth players across elementary, middle, and high school in Orange County. I enjoy being in the gym, building relationships with athletes, and helping them grow both as players and as people. I’m patient, high-energy, and competitive in the right ways, but I always keep the focus on learning, effort, and enjoying the process.
I help players get better by breaking skills down into clear, repeatable habits that actually show up in games. We’ll work on shooting mechanics, ball handling, footwork, finishing, and decision making, but I’ll also push you to think the game at a higher level. I tailor everything to your current skill set and goals, whether you’re just starting out or trying to refine your game. My goal is for you to leave each session more confident, more skilled, and with a better understanding of how to play.
A typical training session is structured, intentional, and builds on the goals we set together over time. We start with a dynamic warm-up to activate your body and sharpen your focus. From there, we move into targeted skill work, emphasizing shooting, ball handling, footwork, and decision making with purposeful, high-quality reps. We finish by creating game-like situations so you can apply what you’ve worked on in realistic, competitive contexts that translate directly to actual play.
I played NCAA Division III men’s basketball at Bard College as a combo guard from 2013 to 2015 and was named both as Bard Athletics Rookie of the Year and to the Liberty League All-Rookie team in 2014. I have coached youth basketball camps since high school, refereed intramural basketball in college, and currently work as a part-time private basketball trainer in Orange County for elementary, middle, and high school players.
The best coach I ever had was my college coach at Bard. He pushed me to be disciplined, detail-oriented, and accountable, but he also genuinely cared about me as a person, not just a player. He taught me that great coaching is about balance: demanding excellence while still being supportive and building confidence. That’s the approach I try to bring to my own coaching.
Athletes and parents should know that I take coaching seriously and come prepared for every session. I’m organized, reliable, and easy to communicate with. I care about player development beyond just drills, and I try to create an environment where kids feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. I’ll challenge athletes to work hard, but I’ll also keep things positive, encouraging, and enjoyable so they stay motivated and excited about basketball.

Meet your coach in-person or virtually, and start chasing down your goals!
If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
