Get to know Alex

Building fundamentals, skills, and character through basketball.

I provide a fun, structured, and disciplined basketball training environment where young athletes learn strong fundamentals while being met at their individual level. Through skill development, IQ, and technique, I help players grow their game while building character traits like hard work, resilience, respect, and teamwork that carry beyond basketball.

About me

I’m a creative leader driven to make a positive impact on every athlete I work with. My coaching is built on FDLR—Fun, Discipline, Leadership, and Resilience—creating an environment where players can grow both on and off the court. With over six years of training experience, I continue to learn and improve every day. Any day I get to work with aspiring athletes is a great day.

I help athletes improve their game by building strong fundamentals, sharpening their basketball IQ, and developing efficient technique. Through structured, high-energy training, I give players the tools, confidence, and consistency they need to succeed.

Each session is customized to the athlete’s age, skill level, and goals, but generally includes the following:

Warm-Up (5-10 mins):

Dynamic stretches, light ball-handling, and conditioning

Focus: Coordination, stamina and mental focus

Fundamental Skills (20–30 mins):

Shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, footwork

Repetition with corrections and breakdowns to build muscle memory

Situational Play / Game IQ (15–20 mins):

Game-like scenarios depending on skill level: could just be running in for layups and working on actions out of triple threat or more extensive concepts like pick-and-roll, help defense, creating space, decision-making drills

Teaches athletes to think while playing and adapt under pressure

Character Building / Mindset (5–10 mins):

Short discussion or reflection on topics like leadership, accountability, resilience or perseverance

Athletes are challenged to apply these lessons on and off the court

Cool Down & Recap (5 mins):

Static stretches, recovery tips, and personal feedback

Athlete leaves with 1–2 takeaways or things to work on before the next session.

I have 6+ years coaching experience including 1v1 training, small group training, clinics, camps, and teams.

I have 2+ years experience running a basketball program, leading a group of 15 coaches, and 400+ players.

Along with Sixteen years experience playing on a recreational and competitive level for various teams and leagues, in my youth my best basketball experience was playing in Dyckman Basketball from 8y-12y. Looking back on it now this is where I built confidence and learned what possibilities true discipline could unlock for me.

Experience training with elite and pro level programs and players around the world.

The truthful answer is that I’ve had many coaches throughout my life, but it wasn’t until my adult years that I met the ones who truly impacted my growth—both as a player and as a coach.

As a kid, I built a kind of fake confidence based on what I thought “good basketball” looked like from TV and video games. It wasn’t real, and it wasn’t earned. It wasn’t until later in life that I learned humility—how to humble myself in order to actually grow and become better.

That’s something I wasn’t taught when I was younger, and I truly wish I had been. It’s a big part of why I do what I do now. There’s nothing better than seeing a player’s eyes light up when they realize that true confidence and real progression come from hard work and the time you put in. Once that clicks, everything else becomes easier.

What athletes and parents should know about me? I will always meet you where you’re at. I will work hard for you. I will be a good example for you. And lastly, I will always do my very best.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
