Cross Country & Track Coach, Former D1 Runner and 8 years of exercise education

I would love to help you reach your distance running and middle-distance running goals. I ran for Portland State University in Division I cross country and track. I have expertise in distance running and middle-distance running. I completed a Bachelor's of Sport and Recreation in exercise science and nutrition in New Zealand before moving to the states to run collegiately. Next, I gained a Bachelor's of Science in Applied Health and Fitness in the US, before earning my third degree at Northeastern University, which was a Masters of Sports Leadership. I am USTFCCCA qualified with a TFA 251 Track and Field Technical Certification. I have eight years of experience studying exercise science, and more than 10 years experience in the sport as an athlete.

Get to know Coach Aimee

About Me:

I'm a former Division I cross country & distance athlete from Portland State University with eight years of studying exercise science, coaching and sport's leadership.

How I can help you improve your game:

I can help refine your technique for drills & speed work, provide structured workouts, and warm up & cool down routines. I would periodise training around your goals. I encourage fuelling, and ensuring athletes are enjoying their training (it's supposed to be fun!). As a female coach I understand RED-S (relative energy deficiency in sport) and RED-S recovery approaches at a high level from eight years of studying exercise science.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session would be a track workout where we would implement a warm up routine, go through drills and strides, run a session, and cool down. I am also open to remote feedback on drill techniques & evidence based running advice, or helping remotely plan goals and a racing schedule. I am happy to meet athletes where they are at, and work to build towards their goals brick by brick.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I have assistant coached for Boston College's women's track team, working with their middle distance and distance athletes. I worked with an Athletics New Zealand High Performance Coach in the past. I have interned in an athletics strength and conditioning department in the past. I have over 10 years of competitive running experience, and many years studying running coaching approaches. I have completed a mental performance course for coaches by NAU's cross country and track & field's sports psychologist. As a Portland State University Division I distance and middle-distance athlete I took over 10 seconds of my 1500 meter personal best in one year, and claimed personal bests in every event I competed in. After my collegiate eligibility was up, I continued to train competitively with a focus on running personal bests, and making New Zealand representative teams. I ran a personal best of 4:32.50 over 1500 meters at Portland Track Festival in 2024.

Best coach I ever had:

I've had so many great coaches over the years, I am currently coached by Isaac Wood (Pacific University/Salt Lake CC/BYU/Florida State University). My former coaches include Griffin Humphreys (Portland State/Salt Lake CC), Bianca Samuel (Portland State University/Atlanta Track Club Elite), Graeme Holden (NZ), Rhonda Riley (Portland State/Duke/Vanderbilt), and Daniel Goetz (Portland State/Duke/Team Run Eugene/Oiselle Little Wing).

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am focused on athlete enjoyment, being a supportive and positive coach, and ensuring long term success for athletes.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
