Athletic Background

Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I started playing tennis at 5 years old. I’ve been playing for 27 years. I started playing USTA tournaments when I was 12 in the New York area. I played until i was 18 years old. I was number one in the New York area for a number of years. Then I went on to play for my college team, Santa Monica College. I did very well there. My doubles partner and I got 2nd place in the year end finals in Ojai.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
My favorite coach was Reggie. He was a coach down in Florida where I used to train at Evert Tennis Academy. He was an amazing coach because he was the only coach I had that truly believed in me and my potential. He was my coach when I was 16 so he didn’t teach me tennis but I met him at a great time in my young tennis career and I believe he was crucial to my college tennis success!
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am a 32 year old tennis coach coaching in Los Angeles for the past 10 years. I am from New York City. I am passionate about tennis and I love my clients and I love to see them grow and succeed in the sport that I love.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I have coached at 2 different county clubs and 2 city LA Parks. 10 years ago I was at the Riviera Country Club coaching their junior program, teaching the small kids the fundamentals of tennis. Then I went to the Griffin Club Los Angeles. They hired me as a coach and a racket stringer. I mostly did private clients there. Then I went on to working for business at a park. I ran their junior program, gave instructional lessons to adults and ran LiveBall classes every night. Currently I do the same thing just at a different location.
How can you help someone improve their game?
In my lessons I focus on strategy if my client is a competitive tennis player who loves to play matches. If my client is not a competitive tennis player then I focus more on placement (where to hit the ball) and fun drills for consistency.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session for me looks like: Setting up cones (targets to hit) Forehands and backhands cross court. Then approach shot to volleys and overheads. And at the end, serving.
