Athletic Background

Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I started out swimming at the age of 5. From there I worked my way up the chain to the collegiate level. I have attended club state in Wisconsin since I was 11. During my high school career I qualified for state all four years. During my senior year of high school I qualified for nationals in the 100 breast and 200 breast. I went on to swim at Lindenwood University, a division 1 institution. My swim program at Lindenwood was shut down and I am now on the Indiana university Indianapolis swim team, also a division 1 institution.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was my high school coach, Alexander Krueger. He was the first coach that saw me as a person rather than a time. He helped show me the value of perfecting technique and how much of a difference it can make. He also pushed me to be the best swimmer I could possibly be by also focusing on my mental state.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am not only committed to your training progress but also your personal growth. Swimming is a sport I have loved for my whole life and I embrace any opportunity I get to share my passion and motivation with someone else. My coaching philosophy is centered around creating a positive environment while also pushing you to be the best you can be. I always listen to the athlete first, checking in how they are mentally and physically before starting any workout.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I coached swimming for 4 summers. I coached all levels of swimming, ages ranged from 4-12. I also did private 1 on 1 lessons with swimmers, ages ranging from 4-12.
How can you help someone improve their game?
As someone who has had 10+ different coaches throughout my career, I have an understanding for a multitude of different coaching styles. I can deliver a specific training regimen that will focus on the technique of the swimmer. By analyzing the technique and strength of the swimmer, I can ensure that each practice session is a step closer to your swimming goals.
What does a typical training session look like?
Before starting each practice we will go through a couple of dynamic stretches to make sure we are feeling ready for the practice. I will ask the athlete about how they are feeling that day and how things are going for them outside of the pool. Then we will start out with a warmup that is specific to each swimmer, dependent on age and experience. After that we will do a pre-set that is drill focused and designed to focus on technique. Once completed we will do a main set that will either be event focused or drill focused, this all depend on the age, experience, and what the swimmer is trying to get out of the private lesson. After all of that we will do a cool down set and the swimmer will be done with that session.
