Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I had was my TE positions coach at West Chester University. I played QB in high school, but in college I made the switch to TE/FB. He provided me with the coaching necessary to make that switch. The thing I learned which is most beneficial to me as a coach is the progression involved going through training sessions. We always started with the basics. Always starting on the first 3 steps from my three-point stance. Highlighting this allowed me to get out of my stance properly to do the many duties the position requires like down block or run a drag route. Under his critique, those early practice reps helped me build crucial muscle memory to my technique. This was crucial. Proper technique, with a high amount of repetition allowed me to rely on my training so that I was free to use my athletic creativity to make big plays. He was a great coach in the sense that he mentally prepared me also. He would give credit where credit was due. I was commended for making good plays but equally reprimanded if I had a bad rep. It made me accountable for every rep I took at practice as well as in competition.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I plan to play baseball as long as I am able to. Currently I'm playing for Chester in the Delco League and get involved in various memorial tournaments throughout the year. I enjoy many other sports too and recently have begun running in 5k races. I believe in my purpose to help the next generation of athletes to become better athletes while building good character.
