On the track at AJHS, speed is a product of efficient angles. We teach Piston-Action mechanics, training sprinters to drive their knees forward while maintaining a 45-degree body lean during the first 15 meters. AU coaches focus on Positive Shin Angles, ensuring that every foot strike is pushing the athlete forward toward the Superstition horizon, rather than just upward.

 Front-Side Mechanics and Vertical Force

Maximum velocity depends on how much force you put into the track. We focus on Front-Side Mechanics, teaching AJ athletes to cycle their legs in front of their body to maximize vertical force application. AU trainers use A-Skip and B-Skip variations to ensure the foot strikes the ground directly under the center of mass, reducing the braking forces that slow down untrained sprinters.

 Arm-Hammer Synchronization for Momentum

Efficient sprinting requires the upper body to support the lower body. We teach Arm-Hammer synchronization, focusing on a powerful pocket-to-chin swing with a rigid 90-degree elbow. AU coaches drill Shoulder-Axis Stability, ensuring that the arms drive the tempo of the legs during the final 40 meters of a race, preventing the side-to-side swaying that wastes energy.

 Triple-Extension Block-Exit Mechanics

The race is often won in the first three steps. We focus on Triple-Extension, training AJ sprinters to fully extend their hip, knee, and ankle as they blast out of the blocks. AU trainers use Reaction-Start drills to sharpen the athlete’s neurological response to the gun, ensuring they exit the blocks with maximum explosive power and a clean, low-flight trajectory.

 Technical-Arch for High-Jump and Hurdle Clearance

Field events and hurdles require specific Spatial-Mapping. We teach the Technical-Arch, showing high jumpers how to engage their core to clear the bar and hurdlers how to maintain a lead-leg snap. AU coaches focus on Landing-Safety and Take-off Timing, ensuring that AJ athletes can navigate the technical complexities of their specific event with professional-grade precision.
