What if there’s an emergency during my lesson?

We hope it never happens, but should an emergency arise – such as medical emergencies, family emergencies, etc. – we recommend following these procedures to ensure the situation is taken care of urgently and professionally.

Medical Emergencies:

In the case of a medical emergency, such as broken bones, muscular injuries, cardiac emergencies, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions, fainting, or severe bleeding, call 911 immediately. Always prioritize the safety and well-being of your client. If you are certified and capable, provide emergency care while waiting for professional medical help.

  • Contact the client’s emergency contact (parent or guardian if the client is a minor), so they are aware of the situation and can provide support.
  • Stay with the client until emergency professionals arrive to ensure they are not alone and have assistance if needed.
  • After the emergency has been resolved, contact Athletes Untapped at community@athletesuntapped.com to report the incident and any actions taken. This helps us track incidents and offer additional support where necessary.

Family/Personal Emergencies:

In the event of a family or personal emergency that requires immediate attention, both the coach and the client should notify each other immediately and make accommodations to address the situation.

  • If transportation assistance is needed for your client (such as a ride home), ensure they are in touch with their ride as soon as possible to avoid any delays or confusion.
  • If the client is a minor and requires departure due to a family emergency, continue providing supervision until they are safely picked up or depart.
  • If the lesson needs to end early due to a personal or family emergency, notify the client and inform us at community@athletesuntapped.com as soon as possible. Additionally, update your booking calendar to reflect the canceled or shortened session, ensuring accurate scheduling records.

Additional Considerations:

  • In the case of an emergency, documentation of the incident (e.g., time, actions taken, and any communications) can help if further investigation is needed. This will also assist Athletes Untapped in managing follow-ups with the client or coach.
  • If any injuries or emergencies require a change in your availability or schedule, update your booking calendar promptly to avoid any confusion with upcoming sessions.
  • Emergency situations may require adjustments to policies or procedures, so feel free to reach out to the support team for additional guidance.

By following these steps, we can ensure that both coaches and clients are prepared to handle emergencies appropriately while maintaining a safe and professional environment. As always, contact us at community@athletesuntapped.com for any emergency situations and one of our Senior team members will respond quickly.
