I'm passionate about training and having fun. And I know a ton about exercise technique, speed, agility, strength, recovery, mobility, and so-on. Since 2018, I've been training clients of numerous backgrounds, goals, ages, and levels. I've also trained myself! I'm not currently competitive, but I still enjoy exercise and training myself and others!

Get to know Coach Storm

About Me:

I was essentially born an athlete. I grew up competing in track, cross-country, basketball, OCRs, and boxing while playing a litany of other sports. I was particularly successful in running sports, obstacle courses, and boxing and as an adult I began to study optimal training methodologies. This meant enhancing performance and recovery while improving mobility and longevity and mitigating injury.

I'm now a certified personal trainer and I've coached thousands of clients from absolute beginner to advanced athletes.

How I can help you improve your game:

Obviously the physical element is essential to improving one's skills and abilities. This means understanding a balance through programming of skills, strength, speed, agility, coordination, power, and endurance. Also understanding the athlete's drive is an underappreciated approach to athletic training, however. I don't want my students grumbling and dragging their feet as they return to my sessions, but skipping merrily in excitement (even if we undergo some intense, exhausting training sessions).

Understanding and attacking both of these angles (i.e., the physical and the emotional) is the most effective approach.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Depending on the sport and the age and level of the athlete, this could look slightly different. Same with private sessions or group sessions.

1. warm-ups (usually active stretching and aerobics)

2. skill/coordination/mobility training

3. strength/speed/power/endurance

4. skill/coordination/mobility training

5. cool-down (usually static stretching and games)

I do like my sessions to remain fun and engaging while also challenging and strengthening weaknesses.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I've been coaching since the beginning of 2018. Some of my students/clients were casually looking to experience a fun session (as opposed to compete), but many of my athletes were competitive and some have reached high levels in their sports. I was fortunate in that my main coaching field was in "ninja" training: a newer umbrella term denoting overall strength and agility, typically in the context of parkour, tricking, martial arts, and/or obstacle courses. Through this career, I had the opportunity to coach thousands of people. This included competitors in track and field, football, basketball, various martial arts, soccer, obstacle courses, dance, stunt work, and many more. In our group classes, though we weren't necessarily specialized in any of these particular fields, my students constantly reported improvements to their respective sports thanks to our training. Private sessions were usually more specific to the student's goals, however, and were typically extremely fun and engaging.

Best coach I ever had:

I've had many coaches growing up, but I found those that I was able to connect best with were those who were more interactive and engaged. These were the coaches who wouldn't simply point the finger and tell you what to do. These were the leaders who would teach by example and show the technique and be able to explain why the athletes were doing what they were instructed to do. These were also the coaches who tended to be the most passionate about the sport. These, to me, are the best coaches and what I strive to be.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

In university, I began to lift weights more actively to improve my strength and athleticism. I found, however, that I was being constantly bogged by injuries. Refusing to stop training, however, I began to study technique and recovery. Over time, I learned more and more and sustained fewer and fewer injuries. Ten years later, I've amassed quite a bit of knowledge on the best training techniques and how to improve in many sports (including strength-based sports). Not only this, but also how to move better and feel better.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
