How I can help you improve your game:

To improve someone's baseball talents, it’s essential to focus on developing both their technical skills along with their physical movements. A strong foundation in the fundamentals is crucial, including improving batting mechanics, hand-eye coordination, and timing. For pitchers, proper mechanics, pitch grips, and control are key areas to focus on. Defensively, players should work on their footwork, glove positioning, and reflexes for various types of fielding. Personalized instruction, such as video analysis and tailored drills, will allow for a deeper understanding of a player’s strengths and areas for improvement. Regular constructive feedback and goal-setting can help the players progression. By addressing all these areas, athletes will not only improve their baseball skills but develop the confidence and toughness to be successful. Lastly and one of the most important is to make sure that the athlete is having fun. When you can create a fun environment that challenges the individual and brings about an enjoyable competition, you tap into the love of the game that will develop both the athletes skill but also their love of the game!

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical baseball lesson usually begins with a warm-up to get the player’s body ready for activity. This will include a dynamic warm-up and mobility drills to activate the muscles and improve flexibility. This will be followed up with a number of hand-eye coordination drills to wake up the players reflexes and prepare the athlete for the lesson. We would then move to the skill portion of the lesson. For hitters this might involve drills like soft toss, tee work, or live pitching to focus on swing mechanics, timing, and pitch recognition. If the player is a pitcher, the session would emphasize pitching mechanics, delivery, and control, with drills aimed at improving pitch accuracy and velocity. Fielding practice is also a key component, where players work on proper glove positioning, footwork, and reactions, either in the infield or outfield Towards the end of the session, the coach will lead a cool-down followed by feedback. The coach will discuss the player’s strengths, areas for improvement, and set goals for future sessions. Each lesson is customized based on the player’s goals and skill level, ensuring a productive and engaging learning experience.

Career summary and accomplishments:

With over 15 years of coaching and instructing experience, I have worked at various levels, including College and Varsity, as well as coaching travel and showcase teams. My expertise extends to providing private instruction to athletes ranging from 8 years old and up, with a specialization in coaching athletes between the ages of 12 and 18. Throughout my career, I have helped players develop their skills and reach their full potential in both individual and team settings.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was my college hitting coach. He spent countless hours in the cages with me, building a strong relationship and trust. He wasn't a "my way or the highway" type of coach; instead, he understood that every hitter was different and took the time to learn what made each player tick. He focused on how to help each of us succeed, not just in the short term but also in the long run. He valued our feedback and always made sure to create an environment that was stress-free and centered around honing our craft. As a player, having someone in your corner who genuinely cares about your success gives you the belief that you can accomplish anything. That’s the type of coach I strive to be as well. Baseball, and especially hitting, is a game of failure, so it’s important to have fun, celebrate the small victories, and stay focused on continuous improvement.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that I have a passion for the game of baseball and I love what I do. I have been fortunate enough throughout my college and professional experience to be around some of the greatest baseball minds of all time. I have been able to mold my coaching strategies best off of those experiences to bring to the next generation. My goal is to create an environment that is both challenging and enjoyable, ensuring that players are constantly improving while having fun and staying motivated. My coaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, improving technical skills, and fostering a positive mental attitude. I emphasize not only physical development but also the importance of confidence, resilience, and decision-making during games. I tailor each lesson to the individual needs of the player, providing personalized feedback, drills, and strategies to help them reach their full potential regardless of age. Parents can feel confident that I am committed to helping their child grow as a player and person, both on and off the field.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
