Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Coach Juan Hernandez
Allowed me to grow as a player and had the utmost respect for my decision making as a player and as Head Coach. He believed in me and suggested that I become the next new Head Coach, once he stepped down.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I was a European Professional Basketball player as well as a Professional Head Coach in Europe and South America. During my career I have been an agent, a player development coach, and a strength and conditioning coach. I have a lot of experience and accolades to go along with my playing and coaching career. I have trained many student athletes, as well as players looking to play professionally. Over my years of training and coaching I have helped 12 players turn pro and I have helped approximately 15 student athletes make it to the college level. If you are looking for a coach that’s eager to help student athletes become the best they can, on and off the court as well as help them develop and grow into the player they inspire to be. I believe my life experiences and sports background has the capability to help all those I come in contact with, as well as help them thrive to become as successful as possible.

How can you help someone improve their game?
Years of experience as a player and coach gives me the ability to help players learn how to develop a competitive and complete game. My philosophy is to stay true to the basics and build a player's game offensively and defensively, based on the basic skills and fundamentals of basketball. The game may have changed and evolved, but basic fundamentals is the key to being a solid player.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session with me, as a retired professional European basketball player and coach, begins with a strong emphasis on fundamentals. We kick off with a dynamic warm-up to prepare our bodies, focusing on mobility and agility drills that enhance footwork and coordination. After warming up, I lead the team and or individual player through ball-handling exercises designed to improve dribbling skills under pressure. We then transition into shooting drills, where I emphasize proper form and shot selection, ensuring that each player understands the mechanics of a successful shot. Throughout these drills, I provide personalized feedback, encouraging players to refine their techniques while encouraging a competitive spirit.
As the session progresses, we shift our focus to team dynamics and possible game strategy. I often simulate game scenarios to help players apply their skills in real-time situations, allowing them to develop decision-making abilities under pressure. I incorporate video analysis to review performance, highlighting areas for improvement while celebrating successes. By the end of the training session, we wrap up with a cool-down, a discussion, and reflecting on what we learned and setting goals for future practices. This approach not only develops individual skills but also builds a positive culture rooted in hard work and mutual support.
