Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was my cross country and track & field coach in high school because she motivated me to be the best version of myself that I could be, as an athlete and person. She believed in my potential and encouraged me to put forth my best effort in both practices and meets, and has continued to help me post-graduation.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athletes and parents should know that, apart from coaching privately, I am finishing up my final year as a school psychologist intern, tutor chess to all ages, and help out on local high school sporting events. Helping others become the best versions of themselves is a passion of mine, and I am committed to helping athletes improve and reach their goals over time.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I have supported the Bristol Central High School in both practices and meets for the past three years, and have recently taken on the role as director of the Bristol Running Club which hosts weekly runs throughout the summer and fall.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I help athletes improve their game by taking a holistic approach to their development. In coaching sessions, I collaborate with each athlete to assess their strengths and areas for growth across multiple aspects of performance. This includes building confidence through sports psychology, optimizing their diet, mastering event pacing, and emphasizing quality over quantity in workouts. By addressing these key areas, I guide athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the track.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session begins with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the body and prevent injuries. Depending on the athlete’s goals, the session might focus on specific event training, such as improving sprint mechanics, refining distance pacing, or practicing field event techniques. Workouts emphasize quality over quantity, ensuring each drill or repetition has a purpose. Alongside physical training, I incorporate sports psychology strategies, like visualization or confidence-building exercises, to enhance mental resilience. We conclude with a cool-down and a review of the session, discussing progress and adjustments for future workouts. Each session is tailored to the athlete's current needs and long-term goals.
