League, AAU, including NCAA basketball all 4 years of college, and also served as a student assistant coach for a 5th season. Alongside my basketball expertise, I’m also a passionate fitness coach with 5+ years of experience helping athletes become stronger, faster, and more conditioned. My training combines skill development with strength, endurance, and agility work, ensuring you’re not just a better player but also a more well-rounded athlete. As a lifelong athlete and passionate coach, I bring a wealth of experience to developing young athletes. I have played many sports; Volleyball, Soccer, Track, Softball, and of course Basketball. I had been playing basketball competitively for at least 8 years before starting on my high school varsity basketball team as a freshman and went on to achieve a 4-time Division Championship streak during my collegiate career.
My experience as an athlete and coach allows me to connect with young athletes on a personal level. Basketball has taught me the value of hard work, discipline, perseverance, and team work—lessons I now pass on to my athletes. As a coach, I've developed the skills to guide young athletes in building strength, improving performance, and overcoming challenges. My focus is on building confidence, teaching life skills, and helping each player unlock their full potential, both on and off the court.
Whether it’s basketball specific training, or performance-based conditioning, each session with me is designed to be focused, engaging, and tailored to meet the players goals. Here’s an overview of what a session might look like:
Basketball Training Session
I focus on building technical skills, game IQ, and overall athleticism. A typical session:
Dynamic Warm-Up: We start with drills to improve mobility, balance, and flexibility, priming to perform.
Skill Development: Emphasis on core basketball fundamentals like shooting, ball-handling, passing, and footwork, with tailored drills to address areas for improvement.
Game Scenarios: Position-specific strategies, decision-making drills, and simulated game situations to build confidence and improve court awareness.
Conditioning: Integrated strength and agility exercises to improve speed, endurance, and overall fitness, all while reducing the risk of injury.
Cool Down and Feedback: A proper cool-down paired with a personalized breakdown of the session, including what went well and areas for continued focus.
As for my Performance-Based Training Session:
This session is aimed at building athletic performance through strength, speed, and agility!
Activation Phase: Dynamic movements and stretches to activate key muscle groups and prevent injury.
Strength Training: Age-appropriate resistance exercises focused on developing explosive power, stability, and endurance.
Agility and Speed Drills: Cone drills, ladder work, and sprints to enhance quickness, reaction time, and coordination.
Core and Balance Work: Exercises targeting core strength and stability to improve overall athleticism and prevent injury.
Progress Tracking: We review measurable progress, ensuring your child stays motivated and achieves their performance goals.
Each session is built on encouragement and effort. My coaching style is engaging and positive, pushing athletes to give their best while building confidence and resilience. I tailor every program to meet the athlete’s skill level, ensuring that each player leaves every session stronger, smarter, and more prepared.
After college, I became an NCAA assistant coach, honing my skills in athlete development and team strategy. I've accumulated over four years as an ISSA-certified personal trainer, I’ve coached over 200 clients, specializing in strength training, conditioning, and injury prevention. Sports and fitness are my lifestyle, and I’m dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential through hard work, discipline, and confidence-building.
Coach Bruce from Peak Performance AAU was a transformative figure in my basketball journey. Despite battling cancer during his time coaching me, he exemplified resilience and taught me the importance of performing under adversity. He was the only coach who saw potential in me as an underdog and gave me the opportunity to prove myself. Without his belief and the way he pushed me beyond my comfort zone, I wouldn’t have made it to collegiate basketball or become the player I am today. His impact shaped not only my game but my character as well.
In addition to my athletic background, I’ve spent years focusing on rehabilitation and recovery, understanding how to rebuild strength and confidence after setbacks. This has become a part of my coaching philosophy—helping individuals of all ages and abilities unlock their full potential.
I know firsthand what it’s like to be an underdog, and I wear that experience as a badge of honor. That's why I work tirelessly to ensure every one of my students gives 100% effort and believes in their ability to achieve greatness. Meet your coach in-person or virtually, and start chasing down your goals!
If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
