As a former collegiate soccer player who has had two successful recoveries from severe sports injuries, I understand the importance of proper nutrition, mental health, and physical activity in relation to performance on and off the field of play. I want to help others connect these dots so they can live and perform at their best. I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. Additionally, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and a Master's of Science in Kinesiology with a focus in Performance, Sport, and Exercise Psychology. I help athletes strengthen their mental game so they can perform with confidence, focus, and resilience—because success starts in the mind before it happens on the field.

Growing up, I was a multi-sport athlete, playing football, soccer, and basketball. Since football and soccer were in the same season, I faced a tough decision in high school and ultimately chose to focus on soccer. This allowed me to dedicate myself fully to the sport, playing year-round, traveling across the U.S. for tournaments, and attending college recruitment camps. That exposure led me to commit to an NCAA Division III school. However, due to personal circumstances, I decided to stay home with my family instead of going away to college.
I didn’t give up on my dream of playing college soccer, though. I attended a local community college, earned a full scholarship to play for two years, and completed my Associate’s degree. During that time, I received Academic All-American honors in both years and served as a team leader. After graduation, I shifted my focus to academics, continuing my education at the University of Illinois Chicago, where I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. The adversity I faced during my sports career—including, but not limited to, numerous injuries such as a broken leg and a torn Achilles tendon—led me to pursue a career in sport psychology, where I help others persevere through similar challenges.
I help athletes improve their mental performance by combining my expertise in sport psychology with a client-centered, practical approach. My methods focus on developing mental skills that enhance confidence, focus, resilience, and composure under pressure. I educate athletes on how the mind impacts performance and work together to help them acquire tools to enhance their mental skillset. Through education, deliberate practice, and goal setting, I assist athletes in developing a mental skillset that will aid them in navigating the interferences that the mind causes. My hands-on experience with athletes of all levels—from youth and college to semi-professional and tactical—combined with my background in psychology and kinesiology, makes my training both evidence-based and highly effective.
My mental performance sessions are all conducted virtually via video call, which I have found to be more convenient for athletes and their parents/guardians. A typical one-hour session with me is structured yet flexible, tailored to the athlete’s specific needs while ensuring they leave with practical tools they can apply immediately. Each session is conversational— the more open the athlete is with me, the more we can accomplish. My sessions are practical, engaging, and personalized, ensuring that athletes walk away with clear, actionable goals and tools to enhance their mental performance both in and out of competition.
Throughout my career in sport psychology, I've worked as a mental performance coach for the ASPIRE Lab’s Resilient Athlete Program at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), UIC’s Army ROTC, and UIC’s Baseball Team. I’ve worked with injured athletes, college athletes, semi-professional athletes, and tactical athletes, such as members of our armed forces, helping them overcome mental blocks and build a mental skills toolkit. This toolkit enables them to perform at their fullest potential, both mentally and physically, consistently. In addition, I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC®) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. I've also presented some of my work in research and mental performance coaching at the Association for Applied Sport Psychology’s 38th Annual Conference, the Midwest Sports and Exercise Psychology Symposium (2x), and the Chicago Sports Injury and Psychology Symposium (2x).
The best coach I ever had was my youth soccer coach, Liam. He was from the UK, and my family hosted him for several years while he coached my team. I grew really close to him during that time, and seeing his passion for the sport and the risk he took—traveling to a foreign country and living with a foreign family to coach kids in a small town in Illinois—was truly inspiring. That experience stuck with me and helped shape the passion I have for the sport to this day. That was over a decade ago, but I’m still very close with him and communicate with him regularly.
Athletes and parents should know that I bring a unique combination of education, experience, and personal insight into my mental performance services. With a background in both applied psychology and kinesiology, I specialize in performance, sport, and exercise psychology, meaning I understand the physical and mental demands of sports. I’ve worked with athletes across a variety of sports, helping them build resilience, focus, and confidence to overcome obstacles—whether they’re facing injury recovery, mental blocks, or pressure to perform.
My approach is grounded in practical strategies tailored to each athlete's individual needs, empowering them to unlock their full potential and perform at their best, both mentally and physically. I draw from my own experiences as an athlete who faced adversity—like overcoming a torn Achilles tendon—to help others navigate challenges and maintain a strong, positive mindset. My goal is to help athletes build the mental skills that lead to lasting success on and off the field.
Lastly, my services are designed not just for athletes looking to enhance their performance, but also for parents who want to better support their child's mental growth in sports.
