Training driven athletes to compete at the next level

Hi, I’m Lauren Korsnick—a current PhD student and player on Stanford’s Women’s Club Soccer Team. I’ve competed at the ECNL, varsity, and collegiate levels, and I previously coached and captained the Georgia Tech club team, leading them to nationals for the first time in program history. I specialize in training dedicated athletes who want to reach the next level—whether that’s making their high school varsity team or getting recruited to play in college. My coaching blends competitive intensity with personalized development to help players grow in confidence, skill, and game IQ.

Get to know Coach Lauren

About Me:

I’m a lifelong athlete with over a decade of high-level soccer experience, including ECNL, varsity, and collegiate play. I’m currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, where I continue to compete as a member of the Stanford Women’s Club Soccer Team. As an undergraduate at Georgia Tech, I played and coached for the Women’s Club Soccer Team. During my time there, we made program history by qualifying for the NIRSA National Tournament twice and attending Regionals three times—milestones that reflected the dedication, culture, and competitive drive I helped build within the team.

Before college, I competed with Maryland United in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), gaining exposure at multiple collegiate showcase events and helping lead my team to the ECNL National Tournament in 2019. I was also a four-year varsity player and team captain at Archbishop Spalding High School in Maryland, where we advanced to the IAAM A Conference semifinals.

In addition to soccer, I’m passionate about endurance sports. If I'm not on the soccer field, you can find me training for either an Ironman or ultramarathon. These experiences have shaped my mindset as an athlete—instilling discipline, grit, and a deep appreciation for the process of long-term growth. Whether on the field or in the classroom, I bring energy, leadership, and a relentless work ethic to everything I do.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help players improve by meeting them where they are and giving them the tools, structure, and support to grow. Whether it's refining technical skills, building confidence, or understanding the game on a deeper level, my training sessions are designed to push players with purpose. I focus on the little details that make a big difference—first touch, movement off the ball, decision-making under pressure—and tailor each session to the player’s specific goals. I also challenge athletes to develop their mindset: to stay composed, compete hard, and trust the work they’ve put in.

Improvement isn’t just about working harder—it’s about working smarter. I make sure every drill has intention and every player leaves feeling more prepared for the next level.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

In a 1-on-1 environment, I prioritize technical skill development—because that’s where players can make the biggest strides with individualized attention. Each session is focused and intentional, starting with a dynamic warm-up followed by drills that target the player’s specific goals, whether that’s first touch, ball control, passing under pressure, shooting technique, or decision-making in game-like scenarios. I build sessions that challenge players technically and mentally, using progressions that push them just outside their comfort zone. I also believe that repetition with purpose—done at game speed—is key to real improvement.

While fitness is a critical part of performance, I don't dedicate training session time to conditioning. Instead, I clearly communicate fitness expectations to my players and provide them with personalized conditioning plans to complete on their own time. I trust them to follow through, and we check in regularly to make sure they're staying on track.

Ultimately, my goal is to make each session purposeful, competitive, and tailored—so players leave better than they came and confident in what they’re working toward.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I’ve been coaching since 2018, working with players from ages 10 to 22 across club, high school, and collegiate levels. I started as a youth assistant coach, helping run practices and mentor younger athletes, and later stepped into a head coaching role while playing at Georgia Tech. During my time there, I coached and led a competitive collegiate club program, designing training plans, managing tournaments, and building a team culture that helped lead us to our first-ever appearances at the NIRSA National Tournament and multiple Regional berths. My coaching experience also includes one-on-one and small group training focused on skill development, confidence, and game IQ—especially for athletes aiming to make varsity or prepare for college recruitment. Above all, I aim to create a high-energy, supportive, and focused environment where athletes feel motivated to grow and equipped to succeed at the next level.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was my club coach growing up. He completely changed the way I saw the game—and myself as a player. He had high expectations, but he always believed in me, even when I didn’t fully believe in myself yet. He taught me that growth comes from pushing through discomfort, and that mistakes are part of the process—not something to fear. He created a competitive environment where we worked hard, had fun, and felt genuinely supported. A lot of the values I carry into my own coaching today—confidence, grit, and building real trust with players—come directly from the example he set for me.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I care deeply about helping athletes grow—not just as players, but as confident, motivated individuals. I know what it takes to compete at a high level, and I’m passionate about sharing that experience in a way that’s encouraging, challenging, and personalized. As a coach, I focus on building trust, teaching the why behind the game, and pushing athletes just outside their comfort zones to help them reach new levels. I’m intentional about creating an environment where players feel supported, heard, and excited to train. I’m also a big believer in communication—with both athletes and parents. Whether your child is aiming for a varsity roster, a college opportunity, or just wants to get better every day, I’m here to meet them where they are and help them take the next step with purpose and confidence.
