Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I’m a former scholarship Division 1 athlete and a 4-time All-Big South honoree. Along with my team, I helped secure four consecutive Big South Cross Country Championships and a Big South Track and Field Championship in 2021. During my time at school, we consistently placed within the top 15 in the region, even beating out Power 5 teams. Before my track and field career, I grew up playing soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and diving, all on competitive travel teams until high-school.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was my college cross country coach. He had a unique ability to balance pressure with encouragement, pushing us to perform at our best while always respecting our individuality. He understood that we weren’t just athletes; we were people with lives outside of the sport—school, social challenges, emotions—all of these factors impacted our performance. He took the time to get to know us as individuals, offering support when needed and holding us accountable when necessary. His approach wasn’t just about training us physically; it was about understanding the whole person, which made his coaching both effective and impactful.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
As an athlete, I often let my mind get in the way of my best performances. The times I performed at my best were when I learned to use my mind to my advantage, rather than seeing it as the enemy. I worked with a mental performance coach from high school through college, and the impact they had on me shaped my own passion for this field. Their guidance helped me realize the power of the mind in unlocking true athletic potential, and it inspired me to help others do the same.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
With a Master’s in Sport Psychology from Florida State University, I’ve worked with athletes at all levels—from Division 1 to youth sports—helping them elevate their mental game and achieve peak performance. I also spent two years working full-time with the U.S. Army, where I helped soldiers enhance decision-making, focus, and attention in high-stress situations. Now, I bring my expertise to athletes privately, guiding them to unlock their full potential and perform at their best in any sport
How can you help someone improve their game?
I focus on building upon what athletes are already doing well, strengthening their existing skills while also addressing areas of improvement. Through consistent sessions, we create a personalized game plan that evolves over time. Each week, I provide athletes with tangible takeaways they can immediately apply, while also offering longer-term insights to work on and reflect upon across multiple sessions. I periodize my approach to match the time of year, so what we focus on during preseason looks very different from sharpening up and preparing for postseason. My goal is to ensure that every session contributes to their ongoing growth and peak performance at every stage of the season.
What does a typical training session look like?
My goal is to help athletes take full control of their performance by understanding how the mind drives success and using that to their advantage. I empower my athletes to guide each session, giving them the autonomy to share their thoughts and focus on their personal goals. I consider myself like a mental strength and conditioning coach, but for the mind —athletes may already be performing at a high level, but there’s always room for growth. Together, we unlock that mental edge, pushing them to new heights both in their sport and in life. I typically review how the athletes past week/ performance went and then build upon past topics to set a game plan for the athletes next week.
